Gears of War fans would have picked up the Cluckshot from GoW 3. If you had a lot of fun with that particular gun, then you can own a unique variant of this weapon called the Cluckpuncher in E-Day too. This gun is locked behind an Easter Egg, so you need to complete a secret interaction before you can get your hands on the Cluckpuncher.
As for the Easter Egg, you might not have paid attention to the inside rooms of various locations. But if you look hard enough, you would have noticed some egg cartons in the fridges. If you haven’t figured out what they do and how they relate to the Easter Egg, then this guide will detail how to complete the Easter Egg, find all egg cartons, what to do with them, and how to get the Cluckpuncher in Gears of War E-Day.
All 7 Egg Locations in Gears of War E-Day
For the Cluckpuncher Easter Egg in Gears of War E-Day, you need to find egg cartons inside the refrigerators around the Residential Area in Act 2 and shoot them. After reaching the location, I suggest exploring the inside of restaurants, supermarkets, and certain gas station stores to find egg cartons inside the refrigerators. Once you find them, use any weapon to break them apart. You will also hear a strange clucking sound each time you break an egg carton, which adds to your achievement.
Egg Carton Location #1
While completing the Trapped Family side objective in Gears of War E-Day, you will be led to the convenience store where they are stuck. Investigate the refrigerators at the back of the area and shoot down the two egg cartons in the bottom row of the Drinks refrigerator.
Egg Carton Location #2
In the same area where you picked up the Thrashies Cereal Box, head inside the Timgad Prime gas station store. Make your way to the refrigerators at the back to find two egg cartons and shoot them down.
Egg Carton Location #3
Next, step inside the Major Burger joint in Downtown Kalona during the Hold the Line – Part 2 mission. This is the same place where you can pick up the Vandalised Salvaging Poster, and you can find some egg cartons inside the refrigerator behind the counter.
Egg Carton Location #4
There’s another Major Burger joint between the Bank of Tyrus and the Warehouse District. Again, make your way behind the counter to find the egg cartons inside the fridge.
Egg Carton Location #5
You will find another Major Burger joint to the east of Victory Plaza, south of the previous location. There’s a supply cache inside this joint, so don’t forget to loot that before making your way to the back to find the egg cartons.
Egg Carton Location #6
During the side objective Black Raven Down, you will reach a crash site in the western part of the map. Right near the quest objective is another Major Burger joint you need to check out.
Egg Carton Location #7
Just a bit northeast of Victory Plaza is the Toys and Gift store, and right above it is an open hole in the building. I would suggest tossing any throwable AoE explosive like the Frag Grenade inside the hole until you hear the clucking sound, which signals a successfully destroyed egg carton. If you look near the Toys and Gift store, you will find the secret Chicken Gun on the floor, and it is yours for the taking.
What Does the Cluckpuncher do?
The Cluckpuncher works similarly to the Cluckshot in Gears of War 3. The Cluckpuncher is a grenade launcher that launches explosive chickens at the target. It can bounce over longer distances to reach the target location too. Ammos and mods for the Cluckpuncher are found across some of the supply caches around the map, so do keep an eye out for them if you wish to use this weapon long term.
