Risk of Rain 2’s fourth expansion, Hallowed Concepts, is here and has added two new Survivors to the roster. Acolyte and Enforcer are now available in the game, in addition to new abilities for existing survivors. Enforcer will already be unlocked the moment you boot up the game with the expansion on, but for Acolyte, you have to unlock her first. She is by far one of the most talked-about Survivors in the expansion and is also very fun to play.
In this guide, I will go step by step to explain how you can unlock the Survivor in the Hallowed Concepts expansion with ease.
Step 1: Begin a Run With Hallowed Concepts Enabled
Start a new run with any character of your preference and make sure that you have the DLC turned on. If not, you may have to own the expansion first.
Step 2: Get the N’Tormat
Get the N’Tormat and at least one page. I found it easy to do it by either completing a trial or a Wake event. Wake event spawns are random chances. But for a trial, it is guaranteed if you can jump into the Bazaar Between Time. In there, jump down the pit until you find the Gong. You can start a trial there.
Inside, you have to deal with multiple Teleporter bosses at once. Now, this could be a challenge, so I recommend bringing a strong build with various abilities to juggle. Moreover, remember to rely on heals and bring at least one spare healing item with you.
Step 3: Find the Shrine of Descent
It spawns almost on every stage if you have the N’Tormat and at least one page. The latter part is really important.
Step 4: Finish the Teleporter Event on That Stage
The event on this stage will be extremely difficult as well. Rely on healing and a strong character build to defeat all the enemies in this stage. Once it is over, go through the portal that will spawn at the end of the event.
Step 5: Interact With the Console and Survive The Bosses
In the new area, walk up the ramps and interact with the console at the end of the arena. After this, bosses will spawn in waves, and you have to keep killing them until the Anima Harvester spawns. You guessed it right; you have to kill this one too.
Step 6: Hand a Healing Item to Acolyte
After the fight is over, you will be able to spot Acolyte in the arena. Walk over to her and feed her any healing item from your inventory. Do remember that only pure healing items will work. Meaning items such as Dio’s Best Friend and Tougher Times won’t work.
What Do You Get For Reviving Acolyte in Risk of Rain 2 Hallowed Concepts?
Once she is revived, Acolyte will now show up on your survivor select screen for future runs. You also get the achievement called “A Broken Ritual” for unlocking her. She is built around aggressive melee combos and risk management, and can dance through her enemies with her Glaive. She can also chain attacks while constantly gambling her own health, which makes her difficult to master if you are always aggressive.
Her kit highly rewards you for staying in the fight and converting the damage she takes into fuel for better plays. I recommend unlocking her as soon as you can so you can enjoy her kit and do runs with her.
