23 Strongest Jutsus in Naruto, Ranked

To list down the strongest jutsus in Naruto is a marvellous feat indeed, considering the variety and levels of choices. Naruto takes place in a different version of Japan during the feudal era. The series is noted for its emphasis on character interactions and for its capacity to convey themes through symbolism. On the surface, though, fans were drawn to the show due to its intriguing characters and action.

It was thrilling to see ninja use methods that allowed people to exhale fire or create a giant water dragon, and their jutsu only became better as time passed. Weapons are sometimes employed, but the majority of conflicts concentrate around jutsu, a type of extraordinary powers that usually involve hand signs and have a connection to specific natural components. Every jutsu is formidable in its own right, but some are far stronger than others.

By the end of the series, jutsu could influence gravity, elements, energy, death, space, mind, time. Additionally, certain jutsu could eliminate adversaries in a single hit. Naruto and Sasuke grew on to become two of the world’s most powerful ninja, capable of breaking mountains, engaging in high stakes combat beyond what is humanly possible and eliminating meteors using their jutsu.

Chidori and 22 other jutsus in Naruto that are incredibly strong

23. Explosion Release

Explosion Release is an uncommon and strong kekkei genkai found exclusively in Stone Village, but it is extremely deadly. Explosion Release is a blend of Earth and Thunder chakra that allows the user to imbue their chakra with explosive properties. Deidara, the most well-known Explosion Release practitioner, moulds his energy centres into clay, from which he subsequently drives and blows up on command. Some others can channel his explosions into his fist and can even cause others to explode simply by touching them.

22. Dust Release

Dust Release is a form of advanced jutsu that is even more rare than a kekkei genkai. It is a blend of earth, winds, and fire natures and hails from the Stone Village, in which the Second or Third Tsuchikages used it. Dust Release is a three-dimensional chakra object that expands extremely quickly when the user discharges it. Those who become trapped within these constructions are molecularly dissolved. This technique has immense destructive potential, though the user must have free hands to use it.

21. Chidori

Chidori from Naruto VFX#Roblox #RobloxDev #RobloxDevs pic.twitter.com/dXReSywcnP

— Madow (@MadowDev) July 17, 2023

Before the Chuunin examinations, Kakashi taught Sasuke the Chidori, and it has been an important component of his armoury ever since. Chidori is an electrical style jutsu in which the user’s hand is coated in lightning chakra and thrown into an opponent. Chidori is a strong jutsu with tremendous piercing qualities, but it has limited range and demands the practitioner become up close and personal with their victim. Sasuke was able to resist this by moulding the chakra in a variety of ways, giving rise to his Chidori variations, Chidori Senbon, and Chidori Sharp Spear. However, even the basic Chidori has proven time and again that it really can compete with the Rasengan.

20. Tsukuyomi

We're still in this Tsukuyomi dream/story, and it's getting good. Naruto #Shippuden is on #Toonami now. pic.twitter.com/fzf4s280cC

— Toonami Faithful (@ToonamiNews) July 23, 2023

The Tsukuyomi is a formidable genjutsu that can be performed exclusively by those who have awakened their Mangekyo Sharingan. This genjutsu was largely used by Itachi Uchiha. When caught within it, a person’s view of time is greatly influenced. Itachi tormented Kakashi for a duration that felt like days, despite the fact that only a few seconds had elapsed. Because this technique is so potent, only Tsunade can repair the severe psychological harm it causes. All it takes is eye contact to be trapped in this terrible genjutsu.

19. Hidan’s Curse

I finished reading Naruto last week so I'm watching the anime OPs and man Hidan's kickass 360 degree camera sweep is living rent free in my head pic.twitter.com/1uxlLz1etv

— Brandon Bovia (@brandonbovia) July 14, 2023

Hidan was a fervent devotee of the Jashin faith who discovered a type of immortality while researching the religion’s forbidden practices. He also found a curse that transforms the person into a live voodoo doll. To unleash this curse, Hidan must swallow some of his own opponent’s blood and then step into the Jashin sign that has been set on the ground. When this occurs, Hidan can harm himself gravely, and his rival will suffer the same injury. This curse has the power to kill anyone.

18. Reaper Death Soul

Minato literally used reaper death seal

Separated Kuramas soul from yin and yang and placed half in Naruto and half in himself.

— Zacari (@Zacari171) February 14, 2023

The Reaper Death Seal has grown into one of the popular Leaf Village’s most powerful jutsu. It was used by the 4th Hokage to thwart the Nine-Tailed Beasts Kurama, and by the 3rd Hokage to close Orochimaru’s arms. This jutsu is strictly prohibited since it results in the death of the user. A Shinigami separates their soul from its body and restrains it before shoving its arm into the user’s soul. The arm emerges from the user’s corporeal chest and grasps the soul of the enemy. The shinigami then tugs on the soul with its blade until it is severed. The opponent is entirely immobilised while this is going on.

17. Lightning Release Chakra

A lot of y’all love Boruto’s lightning style jutsu’s, but y’all forgetting who he inherited this chakra nature from.
Also, Hinata has a mastery over lighting and fire release. pic.twitter.com/j13Q9s2ird

— josh (@joshuahyuga) January 31, 2021

The user’s body is covered in Lightning chakra while in this state, which increases their power, reflexes, resilience, and speed. Ay the 4th Raikage can even dodge Sasuke’s Amaterasu at close range thanks to the speed boost. The lightning energy also improves the user’s taijutsu, resulting in nintaijutsu, a powerful version. Ay might smash through the form of an unfinished Susanoo with this strength.

16. Performance of 100 Puppets

#DailyNarutoTrivia 310 – In the anime, one of the puppets in Sasori’s Red Secret Technique: Performance of a 100 Puppets wields Sharingan eyes pic.twitter.com/iNaXcUBee4

— Dan’s Naruto Facts (@danbito_) November 24, 2019

Sasori specialised in producing human puppets after mastering the techniques of the Sand Village’s Puppet. He even turned oneself into a puppet. Sasori’s most powerful jutsu was termed the Performance of 100 Puppets Technique. It involved his manipulating 100 puppets at once. These were no average puppets, either; they were the best in his collection, complete with weaponry and poison.

15. Flying Thunder God Technique

Day 32 – Flying Thunder God Technique (Hiraishin no Jutsu) #NARUTO pic.twitter.com/fHzSkA2QpZ

— Daily Naruto Jutsu (@DailyJutsu) October 14, 2021

Minato’s Flying Thunder God technique was undoubtedly his most powerful jutsu. It is a valuable space-time ninjutsu that allows the user to teleport instantly. Minato refined this approach by tossing special kunai around each battlefield, allowing the user to teleport anyplace as long as the jutsu formula is available.

14. Wooden Golem

No they wont , Hashirama slapped madara his whole life. I get it minato has sage mode, KCM, and flying raijin but nothing he has in his arsenal has the destructive capacity of the wooden dragon, thousand hand Buddha, and the wood golem, that took out the nine tails with susanno

— CJHNDRXXX (@Correveli) March 15, 2019

Hashirama Senju is one of the most honorable characters in Naruto, but he is also the only person who could use Wood Release through natural means. He was able to create entire forests, and he could restrain powerful enemies, including Tailed Beasts. With the Wooden Golem Justu, Hashirama was able to create a massive statue-like figure. In terms of size, this creature matched Madara’s perfect Susanoo, and its body is wrapped with a wooden dragon that can attack independently. This creature is said to be as strong as the Nine-Tails, and it can catch a Tailed Beast Ball with its hand.

13. Izanami

Anyone else feel like they’re stuck under this genjutsu? #naruto #izanami pic.twitter.com/RmTnM8P3DC

— james (@james36654083) November 12, 2021

Izanami is another strong Uchiha genjutsu used to defeat Izanagi. Izanami controls destiny in a restricted space, whereas Izanagi rewrites it. However, many circumstances must be met in order to execute Izanami, and the intended victim can flee after they embrace their fate. The user has to apply physical touch with the other person and then repeat the experience. When this happens, the subject is trapped in a genjutsu which simulates a possibly infinite time loop, with those two experiences serving as the start and end points. Once utilized, the user’s vision in one eye is forever lost.

12. Amateratsu

"Adult Sage Naruto not fast enough to react to Amateratsu "

Fatigued/halfdead base teenage Naruto reacting to Amateratsu with ease👇😂 pic.twitter.com/jQnhD2OcA9

— Kidomaki (@kidomaki_real) January 14, 2022

Amaterasu is designed to be used by those who have awakened the Mangeky Sharingan, which allows the user to generate black fires at the centre of their vision. Amaterasu will keep burning until the victim is cremated unless the person using it extinguishes the flames. These flames can burn regular fire, yet they can also damage and possibly kill a Tailed Beast. Sasuke defeated Killer B, because he utilised Amaterasu to burn the Eight-Tails Jinchurki asleep.

11. Kamui

6. None of the dimensions in Naruto/Boruto are independent 4D constructs.

They're subspaces which share the same Temporal dimension as the parent Spacetime.

If the contrary is said, Kamui as a whole wouldn't make sense. pic.twitter.com/Uzo5yQloLO

— Catto (@BigCatto123) July 20, 2023

Kamui, like Amaterasu, is related to the Mangekyo Sharingan, although only a few Uchiha Clan members were ever able to unleash it. The user can use this space-time ninjutsu to move both inanimate objects and living creatures between dimensions.

10. Shinrai Tensei

Shinrai Tensei pic.twitter.com/IfcQo05dfs

— sam (@sam___________j) May 19, 2020

Shinra Tensei is regarded as the Rinnegan’s apex ability, as it enables the user to generate a repelling force in the form of an unseen sphere of force. Nagato honed this skill through repelling ninja tools, melee strikes, and other ninjutsu. When he attacked the Hidden Leaf town, he employed a gigantic variant of this strategy to completely demolish it, leaving nothing but a crater and wreckage behind.

9. Tailed Beast Ball

this is also not really a full powered tailed beast ball either, we have seen Kurama do bigger ones even when he was weak af like when Naruto stole his chakra from him

Minato also got bodied from the small tailed beast ball he did the clash w so the scaling kinda does work out pic.twitter.com/XuFCgRqnBN

— Blehboy (CW: Gintama) (@Blehboy98) July 16, 2023

The Tailed Beast Ball, a tailed beast’s ultimate attack, is a strong ball of chakra that blasts out of the Bijuu’s mouth as a cannonball and bursts like a nuke. It can be thrown as a conventional ball or as a projectile by first eating it. This is a tough technique to perfect since it demands exact chakra control and shape transformation ability. Users must collect their strong black chakra and adverse white chakra in a particular proportion accurately while moulding it into a condensed ball.

8. Izanagi

Itachi haters are silly. The only way to beat edo is with six paths or sealing. Naruto can’t seal, minatos only seal takes him off the board. Izanagi saves itachi while minato goes back into the reaper. Naruto loses to an immortal. Sasuke sits back and drinks 🍹 and laughs pic.twitter.com/dEdGBWTvGD

— DBGTisCANON#releasethelucascuts (@Dbgtiscanon) July 14, 2023

Izanagi is, in essence, a cheat code. Izanagi, being one of the Uchiha’s ultimate genjutsu, permits the user to temporarily modify the rules underlying reality itself. It is typically employed to undo any harm done to the person using it. It has the ability to reverse the user’s death. Izanagi, on the other hand, has its downsides. One use will permanently blind the user’s eye, and the technique can only be utilised for a couple of seconds, but activating the Rinnegan is going to enable the user to retrieve their Sharingan, and harbouring Senju cells will permit the user to lengthen the duration that Izanagi is active.

7. Summoning Jutsu

Summoning Jutsu: Blade Dance pic.twitter.com/W7bnDszoVl

— daily temari (@temaridaily) May 31, 2021

This jutsu requires only one hand sign to use, however the summoner must first create a contract with a certain animal or species. This agreement needs to be signed in blood, and the summoner must put some of their own blood to the hand with which they signed the agreement in order to call forth an animal. The Summoning jutsu enables a person to summon other entities to aid them in combat.

6. Edo Tensei

Might guy was blitzing six paths Madara who should be FTL++ or MFTL, he destroyed the 5 kages in his edo tensei form, so mind you how fast he is in his six paths form pic.twitter.com/DEEch19Ls5

— Konfal👁️‍🗨️ (@Konfal05) July 21, 2023

There are various jutsu in Naruto which are considered banned, either because they harm the user or create massive indirect harm, but there are also forbidden methods that simply contradict natural rules. One of these methods is Edo Tensei, which allows users to bring back a dead ninja whom they can then command. These reanimated ninjas are unstoppable since their bodies will just regenerate.

5. Komoatsumi

Shisui Uchiha featured just briefly in the series, although he was thought to be extremely powerful due to his Kotoamatsukami. This ocular jutsu enables the user to quietly mind control anybody in their line of sight, and the intended victims are given false perceptions to make them believe they are acting on their own volition.

4. Six Paths: Ultra Big-Ball Rasenshuriken

It'd actually be so cool if they brought back Naruto's original theme for his Super Ultra Big Ball Rasengan scene. pic.twitter.com/8PcEeiyHVJ

— 🌊 (@Swatsnn) April 7, 2021

The Ultra Big Ball in Six Paths By fusing two Kurama avatar clones with the original, Rasenshuriken produces two new variants: an Ultra Big Ball Rasenshuriken as well as a Tailed Beast Rasenshuriken. Both include a tremendous quantity of senjutsu. This method has the strength to block Indra’s Arrow and entirely wipe out the Valley of the End.

3. Susanoo

⚡*MADARA* and his *SUSANO*#itachi #uchiha #itachiuchiha #sasuke #sasukeuchiha #uchihaclan #susanoo #naruto #narutouzumaki #narutofranchise #dragonball #onepiece #bleach #orochimaru #kakashi #kakashihatake #narutoshippuden #madara #madarauchiha #obito #animeeyes #ONEPIECE1087 pic.twitter.com/5K5AmV7PU2

— Akatsuki | Madara (@MADARA7565) July 14, 2023

Many ninjas have the ability to call forth strong monsters to aid them in combat. One such animal is the Susanoo. The Susanoo, whether used for aggressive or defensive purposes during a fight, serves the user’s bidding because it is generated from their chakra. The Susanoo, which transforms into a towering colossus and has the power to completely change the landscape in a single attack, is the strongest power attainable to those who have successfully awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan.

2. Eight Gate Formation: Gate of Death

Madara vs might guy https://t.co/3yRSzphFVZ pic.twitter.com/eb5K2p77fA

— 𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐮𝐤𝐮𝐧𝐚 ☢ (@King_Sukunaaa) June 3, 2023

The most powerful of the ninjas that specialise in hand-to-hand combat are also familiar with the Eight Inner Gates. The chakra limiters which the body naturally puts up must be removed by a ninja in order to open these gates, but doing so imposes a great deal of stress on the human body.

1. The Infinite Tsukuyomi

#HaddesNaruto
Seeing how Obito is just repeating the same words Madara said to him, he's nothing more than a husk for the Madara name having now will of his own other than the Infinite Tsukuyomi pic.twitter.com/rkHtDYR37U

— Haddes (@HaddesAoT) July 23, 2023

The Infinite Tsukuyomi was necessary for Kaguya tsutsuki to achieve her ultimate purpose. The user’s Rinne Sharingan must reflect off the moon’s surface in order to allow the Infinite Tsukuyomi to function. This genjutsu entraps the entire planet in an endless illusion that appears to be a world of dreams, but in actuality, it depletes everyone’s chakra and life force until they are reduced to mindless husks.
