A second season for Blue Lock has been confirmed but we are yet to know the exact details. The manga, which initially debuted in 2018, was adapted into an anime series spanning 11 volumes (or around 90 chapters) over the course of its 25 episodes.
Fans might not have to wait too long if Blue Lock season two covers the same amount of source material that the first season did. There are presently only enough narrative points for a second season to begin production out of the manga’s 216 chapters that are currently accessible. This leads to two possibilities.
Possibility 1

Whereas the first season covered the First Selection and Second Selection arcs, some fans consider the first two episodes to be a separate arc called the Introduction Arc.
The final episode of season 1 introduced a lot of faces familiar to manga readers, but it is only with the second season that
In either case, it makes sense that the second would be covering the following:
- Third Selection arc: Like the Introduction Arc, it is often looked at as a separate section, while others consider it a part of the U-20 arc. This section focuses on the selection of players for the Blue Lock Eleven, the team set to challenge the current Japanese U-20 team in an effort to prevent the dissolution of the Blue Lock project.
- U-20 arc: This arc is set to feature the players of the Blue Lock Eleven facing off against the Japanese U-20 team. Manga readers know of the appearance of a mysterious wild card that fights for the opponent, the clash of familiar and unfamiliar faces and the return of soccer prodigy Itoshi Sae who has a shared history with a major, formerly introduced character.
- Neo-Egoist League: Following the U-20 arc, this takes place with the division of players among top five clubs each presided over by a master striker. The Neo-Egoist League has yet to be finished and is in the middle of its third match with one more and the most crucial match remaining.
As such, the Neo-Egoist League in itself is a huge storyline with each match in the same spanning the course of several chapters (and hence each a mini-arc in itself). So it might not make sense for an anime season to stop mid-arc, which leads to the second option.
Possibility 2

It is always possible that the second season stretches out the manga chapters or becomes short in itself, instead of going forth with an arc midway. We predict that season 2 ends with the victory of the Blue Lock Eleven over the Japanese U-20 team and follows up with the short interlude afterwards.
While there is no official release date yet, a tentative one might occur from next year, beginning in Fall 2024. Of course, for fans who cannot wait too long, there’s always the manga to go back to and you can pick up from where the anime’s first season left off.
