Blue Lock is a story about competing for the best striker position in the world. While the program started out with 300 players, the current storyline has only a few notable places left, vying with their ego, skills, soccer IQ, and everything else on the line to claim that top spot.
The best part about the Blue Lock manga is that everyone feels like the protagonist of their own story, instead of being side characters in the Isagi Yoichi led narrative. Baro’s ego, Nagi’s playmaking, Bachira’s monstrous dribbling, Rin’s overall competence, and Chigiri’s speed place them all at the top of the soccer world. However, who among them is truly the strongest? Let us take a look.
Note: This article contains spoilers from the Blue Lock manga.

10. Reo Mikage

Despite his early appearance, Reo Mikage’s first rank at Blue Lock is still unknown. During the initial First Selection arc, Mikage’s personality is exposed. He is a member of Team W, the facility’s second-ranked team.
Reo hasn’t been playing the sport as long as some of the other competitors, but he knows the basics better than others and appreciates the value of maintaining long-term vision. Reo is a multi-talented natural athlete who has established himself as a formidable opponent in the competition, even without the prodigious Nagi by his side.Mikage’s single ranking is not made clear until chapter 204. He has been chosen to train with English team Manshine City despite being the sixth-best player.
9. Rensuke Kunigami
I hope there’s a Blue Lock spinoff that tells us wtf happened to Kunigami in that wild card shit, idk what he went through but that football must have intense asf 💀

In Blue Lock, Rensuke Kunigami is presented as a contender with a short fuse. He represents Team Z, and his initial position is a mediocre 291. Kunigami leaps to 266 but immediately drops to 268. Kunigami is listed as the facility’s 50th-best player at the Second Selection.
The Second Selection’s last segment significantly alters the potential course of the Blue Lock training course. Despite being defeated during this moment, Kunigami is allowed to enter a secretly hidden “Wild Card” door as opposed to actually departing. He doesn’t make another appearance in the series right until Blue Lock reassembles at the conclusion of the game versus the U-20 team. Kunigami is ranked fifth by chapter 204, when the players’ prices are revealed. At this time, he has forsaken his heroic persona and the idealised notion that had propelled him about soccer players being heroes.
8. Chigiri Hyoma

Hyoma Chigiri, like Kunigami and Bachira, has been the focus of the narrative from the start. He joins Team Z along with Yoichi Isagi as he embarks on his Blue Lock adventure. While in Blue Lock training facility, Hyoma Chigiri was on the verge of giving up. However, he was reminded of his former self after seeing Isagi’s will to win, and he pushes on to triumph.
Chigiri began the match as a member of the bottom-tier Team Z and was ranked 292nd out of 300 players. He keeps moving up the ranks by performing to the best of his ability. Chigiri, who plays for the U-20 of England’s Manshine City, increased to 274, 266, 44, and is currently rated at number 8.
7. Barou Shoei

Shoei Baro is ranked 250 when he first joins Blue Lock and is assigned to Team X. Like everyone else in the facility, his ambition is to triumph. The Second Selection arc, where he is ranked 18, is when his ranking is revealed the next time. His ranking is not once again made public until the beginning of the Neo Egoist League arc. The Blue Lock Project rates Baro as the fifth-best player
Shoei Baro is now ranked first, but his lack of meta-vision and teamplay prevents him from progressing farther. This is revealed in chapter 204. Rankings are constantly changing, thus this place might soon be overtaken. Out of the very top ten players, he is the only one that choose to play for Italy.
6. Bachira Meguru

Bachira is an overall great player, flexible, creative and working well in a team. His spirit and ability to survive well under pressure makes him a great presence while his friendly spirit enables him to become a positive ally off-screen. Bachira is as idiosyncratic in his play as he is in his personality.
Referring to the repressed childhood trauma that drives him during games, he says he has a “monster” inside of him. Bachira’s dribbling is unpredictable, which makes it difficult for the ordinary player to grab the ball away from him. This is a key component of his playstyle. Bachira has mastered having an ego on the pitch. In the match against Japan U-20, Bachira overcame his teammates as well as the stronger defence of the opposition but unfortunately missed the goal.
5. Isagi Yoichi

— That Ginja Ninja (@thatginjaninja) June 18, 2023
As the protagonist of Blue Lock, it is not too much to suggest that Isagi will become the best player in the world – however, he has a long way till he gets there. Isagi struggled to adjust to Blue Lock. He committed the fatal error of passing rather than shooting, costing his high school team back then a spot in the national championship.
Isagi, however, overcame it in the Blue Lock programme and developed one of the biggest egos and the strongest personalities in the series. The essential components of Isiagi’s playstyle are his intuition and metavision. He is a flexible player who may alter his strategy on the spur of the moment in response to the likely outcome of a move. As he demonstrates in the match against Barou and Naruhaya, Isagi knows the benefit of knowing exactly how and where his adversary’s blind spots are and how to take advantage of them thanks to his keen spatial awareness.
4. Nagi Seishiro

During his tenure at Blue Lock, Nagi somehow stepped up to the challenge and shown that he exemplifies Jinpachi’s ideal striker. Although football is typically a team activity, Nagi is aware that every successful football team needs a goal scorer who can easily steal the show. As the one with the most hidden potential in the story, Nagi is held back by his lacklustre attitude and laziness/
Nagi develops and communicates fresh plays to his squad as a creative midfielder. He is a prodigy with excellent skill and a solid foundation in the game of football. Nagi excels at creating strategies to trap the ball and keep it succesffully away from his opponents. Additionally, he consistently shoots with perfect accuracy and seldom ever misses.
3. Shidou Ryusei

He is nicknamed the demon of the field, and is capable of scoring goals even without sparking a chemical reaction with anyone. If you are someone who has been chosen by Itoshi Sae, and who is only capable of playing with a new-gen 11 player, that means there is truly a demon inside you. Shidou does that and more.
Shidou is one of the top athletes in the Blue Lock programme, and Jinpachi would describe him as the ideal striker. Shidou has a short fuse and thinks that most problems can be solved by violence. This is evident on the pitch in his ability to steal goals and his forceful shots. Shidou is capable of scoring goals in spots when other players might have thought it was impossible. Additionally, he is renowned for frantically rushing across the pitch while making erratic moves that confound teammates and opponents alike. Shidou is somehow physically the strongest of the Blue Lock competitors since most of them would be unable to overcome him in a one-on-one match.
2. Itoshi Rin

— daily rin (@itoshirindaily) June 17, 2023
Fans are aware of Rin Itoshi’s first rank as 221, which is made known in chapter 40 of the manga. Itoshi’s position in the Second Selection increases exponentially as the rankings are adjusted to reflect the order in which contestants passed the preliminary round. He is shown to be strong, ranked at position one.
Itoshi was allegedly Blue Lock’s top performer during the Third Selection arc, according to Jinpachi Ego. Itoshi falls to the #2 spot throughout the Neo Egoist League arc but rises back to the top spot by chapter 170. In chapter 204, it is ultimately revealed that he is listed as number 7, which seems strange but may be revealed in the final match. Itoshi has been chosen to join the Paris X Gen team of France.
1. Itoshi Sae

Who else should rank at the top of the list except for Japan’s top-player Itoshi Sae himself? While not technically a part of the Blue Lock program, he outshines everyone in it through his out-of-the-world skills and larger-than-life personality. One of Blue Lock‘s most menacing offensive players is Sae Itoshi. Sae’s playstyle is icy-cold and challenging to outmanoeuvre, much like his demeanour.
As a result, it complements Shidou’s ferocious on-field strategies remarkably effectively. Throughout his football career, Sae has developed a reputation for being conceited and having a singular focus on becoming the best midfielder in the world. Sae represents Blue Lock‘s values since he is a conceited player with the talents to support his arrogant attitude, despite the fact that his reputation precedes him. Sae has a forceful, quick, and precise offensive style. He has the ability to control the kick’s angle, speed, and intensity for complete pinpoint accuracy.
