Palia is marking the end of summer with the latest patch 0.205 titled “Sunkissed Summer: Beauty and the Beach”. This update adds new decor, plushies, quests, features like The Great Shimmerfly Migration, and a ton of new content to the game. In addition to that, the patch also lets you tame wild Flutterfoxes and add them to your home ranch. However, you need a brand-new bait called Flutterhoney to successfully pull this off.
In this guide, I will go over how to acquire this sweet treat and utilize it to secure your new furry companion.
How to Get Flutterhoney in Palia 0.205
Since it is a rare item, Flutterhoney cannot be simply crafted – you need to unlock it through the game’s progression system, after which it becomes available for sale.
Step 1: Make sure to complete the main quest called “Like a Bird”. Towards the end of this quest, Delaila gives you the recipe for Barn Bell, which unlocks the ranch and the ability to store animals. Once done, level up your Ranching skill to 10. If you are not quite there yet, feed your existing ranch animals and harvest their resources daily to quickly boost your XP.
Step 2: Now complete another main quest called “A Stitch in Time”. This unlocks the Amber Echo Store at the Central Stables in the Royal Highlands region. It is fairly easy to spot, as it looks like a work bench built into a massive node of amber.
Step 3: With everything done, all that’s left to do is actually getting Flutterhoney. Open up the Amber Echo Store and purchase the item for 3000 Amber Echo.
How to Use Flutterhoney in Palia
As of now, Flutterhoney is only good for one thing – taming Flutterfoxes. You might think it was actually possible before – and it was – but not without a key change that patch 0.205 bought. In addition to being purely cosmetic companion pets, Flutterfoxes can now live with you at the ranch. This means that it now drops crafting materials for you to use. In this case, it is a new item called Silky Fluff, an alternative to another high tier item Silk Thread.
To acquire a Flutterfox, fast travel to South West in Royal Highlands, and head to the B9 region. Go specifically to the location shown above, where you will find the Flutterfox outside a stone alcove. But he doesn’t start following you just because you have Flutterhoney. It must be fed as well. Interact with it and when the time comes, choose the option to pet it. You are now rewarded with the Flutterfox voucher which can be redeemed back at your barn.
