The size of Starfield’s universe has been a topic of great excitement as well as debate amongst the gaming community. According to the developers, the Starfield map size is massive, with over 1000 planets across 100 solar systems available for the players to explore. Even the area that players will have to explore in order to complete the main quest of the game is roughly 20% bigger than the leading open-world RPGs, such as Fallout 4 and Skyrim.
Out of these 1000 planets, only five are hand-made, with the rest being procedurally generated. Starfield developers have stated that each planet will offer players a unique experience in terms of environment, combat, puzzles, levels, or quests. While this can potentially create an immensely satisfying and hundreds of hours-long gameplay experience, fans are also worried about the risk of running into bare maps that feature no exciting gameplay elements other than resource collection.
This sounds good but the true question is are they gonna deliver on it? I do hope they do because not only will it be crazy asf but will also have a huge impact. Though i am worried about the worlds being repetitive i hope they’re not but over a 1000 is lots hoping theyr not tho

Massive (yet potentially barren) Starfield map size worries fans
The most significant concern amongst fans regarding the expansive Starfield map size, however, is the high probability of content/asset recycling. Many players believe that a huge map doesn’t necessarily equate to a huge scope for meaningful gameplay.
The reason I’m not sold on Starfield is because I’ve come to dislike games that are too big. The interesting content is spread so thin in the name of having a massive map size. I’d rather get 10 densely packed planets than 1000 with little content.

Many predict that some planets would be very similar to each other from a gameplay standpoint, even if the environments and certain assets are different.
Idk how to feel about Starfield. I doubt every single of those 1000 planets will look interesting and we are lucky if each one is gonna be at least half of the size of the Skyrim map, which it's understandable but eeeh. FPS part wasn't that intriguing either.

There’s a high chance that some of these procedurally generated planets might be there just for the sake of numbers.
Trust in me, starfield will die. Because it has big map and that make the game worst. Ain't no youtuber finna play this game all day for content. I rather play real game.

Eh, I for one am not too enthusiastic about just hyping up the size of the maps. I hope there's enough stuff on them to be interesting and not just have bunch of barren, empty locations for the sake of "having them." Bigger does not equal better. #Starfield #XboxBethesda

The developer’s decision to cap Starfield’s framerate at 30 FPS for Xbox consoles has significantly aggravated a large portion of the netizens. Despite the humongous Starfield map size, some are extremely disappointed.
Hopefully people will finally understand instead thinking EVERYYTHING should be 60fps for huge games! I don't even think GTA 6 will be as big as Starfield (map size, world's, etc.) If it is its definitely not hitting a stable 60fps

Large number of fans remain excited about the giant Starfield map size
Some fans, on the other hand, are excited about the upcoming game and aren’t much concerned with the lower-than-current standard frame rate. Many players have likened the situation to Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, a recent release that also features an enormous map and runs on 30 FPS.
Starfield is the biggest RPG ever created, in scope, content and map size.
I think a lack of 60 FPS at launch should not make people attack it.
If you accept Zelda, you better accept Starfield

Many have considered the massive Starfield map size a magnificent feat. This is especially true, considering that according to Bethesda director Todd Howard, each one of these planets will have an internal map the size of the entire map of Skyrim.
In Starfield, where one planet that is the size of Skyrim's map, you can literally go anywhere on any terrain and build almost everywhere you want. Not to mention over a thousand plants that this can be done on.
