Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced has completely removed the modern-day section from the game and replaced it with Rift missions, similar to the ones in AC Shadows. These missions particularly deal with alternate reality stories from the game, and after you complete them, you’re rewarded with Dark Animus Corsair Pistol Swords.
Before you get all giddy, I have some bad news because this unlockable is only acquired once you finish the game. There is no other legal way to acquire it. Regardless, in this guide I’ll tell you how to unlock it, and make the process easier for you.
Black Flag Resynced – Rift 1 (Wayward Souls Explained)

The first Rift appears at the end of the Sequence 4: Overrun and Outnumbered mission. This particular mission shows up at 825,429, south of Great Inagua. The mission is pretty simple. All Edward has to do is pick up a chest and carry it till the end. However, you’ll have to drop it once in a while as you’ll need to interact now and then. Also, you’ll have to pick it up as quickly as possible, as your health will deplete.
The next section will take you through a tunnel-like section, where you need to avoid jellyfish at all costs. Once finished, you’ll get to see how Edward’s life would have looked if he kept his word with Caroline. Once completed, you’ll get a Lock of Hair trinket, which restores your health on a perfect parry.
Black Flag Resynced – Rift 2 (Wayward Desires Explained)

The second Rift in Black Flag Resynced shows up at the end of the Sequence 8: Do Not Go Gently mission. This time around, the Rift will show up at 604, 784 precisely. This mission tests your combat, so make sure to dodge as much as possible. As you continue, you’ll also come around a section where you have to swim and avoid red barrels no matter what.
Lastly, you’ll have to face Blackbeard himself (at least a version of him). This boss fight was a bit challenging for me, but I got a tip. Try to use your pistol as much as possible to drain his guard gauge. Once you finish this mission, you’ll get a cool Queen Anne’s Revenge Wheel for Jackdaw.
Black Flag Resynced – Rift 3 (Wayward Minds Explained)

The third Rift can be accessed after the Sequence 11: Everything Is Permitted mission and pops up at 14,559. This particular memory tests your Stealth skills to the fullest. Use your environment to avoid being spotted. My word of advice here would be to take it nice and slow.
After going through all the hurdles, you’ll be presented with “Renounce the Creed.” Interact with it to find out what would have happened if Edward joined the Templars. Regardless, the final reward is the Don’t Forget Your Old Shipmate shanty, which is yet another banger.
Black Flag Resynced – Rift 4 (True Purpose Explained)

You can access the final Rift after completing the campaign (including the epilogue) as well as all the previous Rift missions. This final Rift mission will show up at 363,176 to complete the ending.
This section was a nostalgia fest for me, because it goes through many of my favorite Assassin’s Creed games. But it quickly ends as you need to fight the Animus, technically Ego: Emotion Agent. To win this fight, deplete the boss’s guard gauge and go for a quick attack.
On finishing this final quest, you’ll be taken through vistas to finally take you out of the Animus (not really). After going through all the trouble and enough patience, you’ll be presented with Dark Animus Corsair Pistol Swords. It also arrives with a perk, which damages nearby enemies after killing one.
Apart from this, I’d also suggest you check the Animus menu, as you’ll get 300x keys for completing the Dark Animus objective. Feel free to spend those to get a unique outfit like Connor’s robes.
