If you’re looking forward to having the best weapons around in Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, the Persian Scimitars and Gargoyle’s Breath pistol need your attention. These legendary weapons have great damage, combined with attack perks that will make your combat more fun (and go well with all the outfits in the game). I personally enjoy the Persian Scimitars’ large AoE attack, which helps me with crowd control.
Though I have to say, acquiring them won’t be easy, as you need to complete a long list of tasks to earn them. This involves finding Weathered Map Pieces across the world and restoring them to reach the loot. So come tag along, as I will guide you to these gear pieces with this guide.
Persian Scimitars & Gargoyle’s Breath in Black Flag Resynced

To unlock the Persian Scimitars and Gargoyle’s Breath, you’ll need the Treasure Map that leads to it. But this Treasure Map isn’t one you find in a bottle; rather, you’ll have to trade it through the Treasure Dealer. If you don’t have the Treasure Dealer unlocked, you have to complete certain restorations at Great Inagua. These restorations include the General Store and the Tavern.
After both restorations are done, you’ll find the Treasure Hunter NPC at the docks of Great Inagua. Speak to him and restore the Treasure Dealer structure. While it opens the ability to gain exclusive maps, you’ll also receive revenue, which you can collect from your hideout.

If you interact with the Treasure Dealer, you’ll find a Map in the Restore section that requires 6 Weathered Map Pieces, 150 Spices, and 500 Reales. You can buy one Weathered Map Piece from the Treasure Dealer for 200 Spices. Since you’ve to collect the pieces around the map, I’d suggest you plunder a few ships with loot to make it easier for you.
One way to procure them is through Warehouse raids, but it’s a luck-based drop. If you want to gain them through plundering, I’d suggest sending ships through Kenway’s Fleet to restock Warehouses and loot them.
But there’s an alternative way to acquire Weathered Map Pieces: through Smuggler’s Dens. There you’ll find chests that contain Weathered Map Pieces, but you have to fight your way through to collect them. To make your collection journey easier, I’ve provided the coordinates of the five chests at Smuggler’s Dens below:
- 535,511 (Gibara)
- 865,235 (Punta Guarico)
- 453,461 (Cruz)
- 28,160 (Chinchorro)
- 590,246 (Charlotte)
Once you’ve collected them all, go back to the Treasure Dealer to collect the map. After buying the Treasure Map from the shop, you’ll find the map under the Codex menu. The Treasure Map will give the coordinates 914,124 on the bottom right, with a diagram marking the treasure spot. This leads to an island in Navassa; match the diagram with the location to find the hidden chest.
Opening the hidden chest will give you both Persian Scimitars and Gargoyle’s Breath legendary weapons.
