Call of Duty MW3 launched with a spectacular selection of 20 maps, out of which 16 multiplayer maps are remastered from Modern Warfare 2 (2009) as well as three big maps for Ground War and Invasion and one huge map made exclusively for War Mode. All Core Multiplayer Maps In Call of Duty MW3
If you are an OG Call of Duty player who has played CoD since the early 2000s, then you are in for a treat as all 16 of the core multiplayer maps from the original Modern Warfare 2 have been remastered and available to play in MW3.
These maps even received slight adjustments and improvements to make it flow better based on the movement and gameplay of today’s CoD while still maintaining the authenticity that made the maps iconic in the first place.
Shortly after launch, three popular multiplayer maps from previous years MW2 (2022) were also added to the list, bringing the list of core multiplayer maps to a total of 19. Here is the list of all those core multiplayer maps:

All Core Ground War Maps In Call Of Duty MW3
Ground War is a large-scale mode first introduced in MW1 (2019) which took sections from its Warzone map Verdansk to create an objective-based multiplayer map that can support large teams of players on both sides and even vehicles.
Invasion is also a similar large-scale mode that can be played on the same maps. This mode has many similarities to the Battlefield series. Following a similar trend, this year’s Ground War and Invasion maps are sections from the new Urzikstan Warzone map. Here are all the core Ground War maps in MW3:

All Core War Mode Maps
War Mode is an old fan-favorite mode that was brought back and recreated for the new MW3. Here is the War Mode Map in MW3:

New Maps In Season 1 And Season 1 Reloaded In Call Of Duty MW3
While the launch of MW3 saw classic maps being remastered, Season 1 and onwards will see the addition of brand new original maps that are tailor-made for MW3. In Season 1 we will be getting four new multiplayer maps, out of which three are 6v6 maps and one 2v2 map for the return of the Gunfight mode.
Season 1 of MW3 starts on December 6th and will launch with these maps below:
- Meat
- Greece
- Training Facility (2v2)
Later in the season, on a date yet to be confirmed by Activision, the Season 1 Reloaded update will drop. Here is the map coming in Season 1 Reloaded:
