If you want to raise your own baby dinosaur in ARK Survival Ascended, you will have to learn about the Imprinting mechanism in the game. Imprinting allows you to take care of your new creatures while also tending to their needs. But this process can get a little stressful with all the imprinting symbols and signs to look out for.
Imprinting Symbols In ARK Survival Ascended
Bred creatures or baby ones from the wild can be imprinted in ARK Survival Ascended. After you start the imprinting process, the babies will start to request care from you in the form of imprinting symbols indicated in the menu above their names.
There are a total of three different imprinting symbols:
- Plate with hearts – The creature wants comfort food.
- Dino with hearts – The creature wants pets and cuddles.
- Raptor and arrow – The creature wants to go for a walk.
If you cannot care for these needs within the given time, the symbols will start flashing red. If you ignore the symbols, you will lose some imprinting points and your dinosaur might not listen to you anymore.
Other than the three essential imprinting symbols, the ones that you also need to keep an eye out for are:
- Cross – Health
- Lightning – Stamina
- Tank – Oxygen
- Meat – Food
- Barbell – Weight
- Fist – Damage
- Foot – Speed
- Star – Torpidity
If you can successfully get 100% imprint affinity with your dinosaur, the grown creature will have tons of buffed stats like a 30% increase in damage, the ability to deflect attacks better, and even an increase in their HP in ARK Survival Ascended.
