Big Walk, being a co-op, a lot of your actions depend on how you communicate with your partner in-game. However, you must have the correct tools to voice chat with your friends. While the game comes with proximity chat, I was quite confused to see it drop off after 10 meters. This can be a challenge to face initially, but it becomes a breeze when you get the Megaphone by your side.
It is one of the best tools for communication. However, the game won’t outright tell you its location. This means you will have to explore a little. In this guide, I will show you how to find the Megaphone in Big Walk so you don’t feel lost while exploring the island.
Accessing the Megaphone in Big Walk

Megaphones are placed on top of yellow, cubical structures in Big Walk. If you come across them naturally when exploring, you can be sure to find a Megaphone on top of it. However, you cannot climb these structures alone. These structures are huge, and you need a buddy to take turns boosting each other to the top. Big Walk encourages problem-solving as a team, be it puzzles or finding items.
Here’s how you can make the climb simpler:
- Task for First Player: Reach the base of the yellow structure and allow your friend to climb onto you.
- Task for Second Player: While looking at the lower half of Player 1’s body, press the action button to climb. Then jump and get the Megaphone.
That being said, I faced another challenge when I realized that Megaphones cannot be attached to your side satchels. This means they can only be held on a backpack in Big Walk or equipped in your hand. When you are about to pick something else, you may have to temporarily drop the Megaphone.
Discovering the Megaphone Locations in Big Walk

When finding Megaphones in Big Walk, you must know that there are three locations from which you can acquire them. The spots are as follows:
- The first location is near the Yellow Tower, which is located in the northern part of the map.
- The second location is east of the Green Tower.
- The final structure location can be found at the southern end of the map.
Do remember that you will need to progress in the game and access the Ski Lift first before you can access the final Megaphone.
When looking at the 2D map, the locations will look like a single yellow square from the top. However, the structure changes into two stacked yellow cubes on top of each other when looking at the 3D map. Despite how the structures look on the map, be assured that these are the only spots where you can find the Megaphone in Big Walk.
Why Should You Not Miss the Megaphone?
The Megaphone amplifies your voice beyond proximity chat range, so it automatically becomes a must-have. It may not be very useful when you are close to your teammates. However, it becomes a lifeline when you are away from each other during exploration.
That said, it is not the only tool for communication in Big Walk. Each communication tool in the game solves a different problem.
- The Megaphone: Good for communicating in open and wide areas.
- Walkie-Talkie: Great for long-distance chat between two specific players.
- Radio Transmitter: Good for talking to players who are near a receiver.
Getting the Megaphone early is not mandatory for you, as you can also go for a Walkie-Talkie, which is the easiest to get from the list of all items in Big Walk. With a higher number of players in a team, assigning someone with Megaphone duties is easier to do, as you have that many more slots to fill with the different items the game gives you. However, if it is a smaller team, then look at what you are venturing out for, whether the area has a flat terrain or it is nighttime… in such cases, the utility of a Megaphone does increase.
