XDefiant has been gaining a lot of hype as it nears its Pre-Season launch. Gamers who enjoy multiplayer first-person shooters are looking forward to it, as the market only has a few of them right now. Earlier in its development, XDefiant was planned to be released on older-gen consoles, but that has since been scrapped. But will XDefiant be on Nintendo Switch, or will it only be on the next-gen consoles? Let’s find out.
Is XDefiant on the Nintendo Switch?
No, XDefiant cannot be played on Nintendo Switch since it is only available on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5. The developers at Ubisoft do not want to hold the game back due to hardware limitations, which is also the reason why the PS4 and Xbox One versions are being scrapped.

While the game isn’t too realistic when it comes to its graphical fidelity, the fast-paced action and gameplay would be impacted by older hardware since they would have to limit the framerate. In a competitive multiplayer shooter like XDefiant, smooth performance with at least 60fps is essential.

Even though it isn’t Steam Deck Verified, XDefiant does run on the Steam Deck, which means that it is the only way to play it on a handheld device on the go. Currently, we have yet to hear from the developers about its potential release on Switch or if it will ever come out.
So sadly, Nintendo Switch users will have to play XDefiant on another platform since it will probably never come out on the current Switch. But, we hope that the next generation of the Nintendo Switch console is capable enough to make the developers finally consider launching the game on it.
