Kelvin is one of the very first companions you encounter in Sons of the Forest. Whether you are in single-player or multiplayer, this AI can do any task you assign. But with ferocious mutants lurking at every corner of the map, Kelvin’s life can be in severe danger if you do not protect him.
Does Kelvin Die In Sons Of The Forest?
Kelvin can die in Sons of the Forest, but his death is only permanent if you kill him. If he is attacked by enemies, he will be downed with an option to revive him. However, if you do not revive him or attack him yourself, he will not remain alive.
When you first crash into the island, you will find Kelvin downed on the ground. This is the very first time the game will give you the option to determine his fate. You can choose to either revive him or let him suffer in pain and, eventually, die.

How To Revive Kelvin In Sons Of The Forest?
Technically, there is no way to revive Kelvin once he is dead. However, you can use a few commands to bring him back to life by changing the Sons of the Forest save file. Here’s how to do it:
- Go to the Sons of the Forest save file.
- Open GameStateSaveData.json (use Notepad)
- Change the term “IsRobbyDead\”:true to “IsRobbyDead\”:false and save the file.
- Open SaveData.json in Notepad and look for “TypeId\”:9
- Then change \”State\”:6 to \”State\”:2
- In the same file look for “Health\”:0 and change it to “Health\”:100
- Save, exit, and then launch your game to see if Kelvin is alive again or not.
Remember to have a separate copy of your saved files so that you have a backup if they somehow get corrupted.
