Outbound does a good job of hiding the collectibles in every crevice and corner of its vast world. Compared to the collectible routing in the first chapter, the second chapter stays almost the same, but with more collectibles. Not one of them is missable, and the location for all of them stays the same without any RNG influence. If you are missing any collectibles, then do check out the guide to all the collectibles in Chapter 2 in Outbound.
List of All Collectibles in Coast in Outbound

This second area of the game has around 79 collectibles scattered throughout the map.
- x25 Campfires
- Common bonfires that you must light up with Redwood instead of the Everwood that we used in Chapter 1. The only difference is the type of wood you will need to use to light a campfire. So when you are starting out, focus on leveling up the Axe to Lv. 3, which will allow you to chop down Redwood logs.
- x25 Cairns
- Cairns are a stack of rocks with one rock placed to the side. When you interact with a Cairn, the single rock will get moved to the top of the Cairn’s stack, making the stack complete. It all happens automatically; you don’t have to manually put the rocks on top of each other like in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
- x25 Gnome
- If you have played Half-Life 2, then you are probably aware of what Gnome is and what to do with it. Here in Outbound, you just have to find the Gnomes and press the interact button to collect them. Compared to all the other collectibles in the game, Gnomes are a bit difficult to find due to their size.
- x4 Paintings
- There are only a few of them, and you just have to interact with the paintings to add them to the journal or collectible list.
- All the collectible items can be viewed in your journal to help you keep track of them.
All Campfire Locations in the Coast Map

There are a whopping 25 campfires all around the map, all of which are found on the side of the road; some are in distant locations. All of them get marked on the map, if you are even close to them, so you can come back to the spot to light them up. The Coffee Farm and Heartmoor Float Village have campfires. I’ve marked the spot with a red circle on the map, since their icons are invisible, overlapped by the POI icons.
The only significant changes from the first chapter collectibles to the second chapter collectible hunting are the type of wood you will need to use for the campfire. At first, you will have no supply of redwood. Upgrade Axe to Level 3 by finding the blueprint for it in any of the towers around the map. Once the Axe is at Level 3, it will chop down dead Redwood tree logs. And you will have a good supply of them in your journey.
Tip: I advise carrying at least 5x Redwood trees with you at all times, so if you even accidentally come across a campfire spot, you will have sources to light it up. Don’t carry too much, or you will run out of inventory space to pick up any item.
All Cairns Locations in the Coast Map

This one will require you to do a lot of hiking up the mountains, since most of them are found in cliffs, ledges, and other high places. That means you will need to get out of the van and actively go outside to look for them. One of the things that makes it difficult is that most of Cairns’ rocks and mountains share the same grey color; it’s hard to make out the color of Cairns from the surrounding mountains.
Note: Just like Campfires, some of them are hidden in the map. I’ve marked them in red circles to help you pick up the rest.
All Gnomes Locations in the Coast Map

Gnomes are tiny, and they can fit anywhere. Out of all of them, you are going to have some trouble tracking them down. But unlike Cairns, Gnomes are colorful, and all of them look distinct, which helps spotting them a bit easier. Since the map has 25 of them, you are going to spend more time looking for them compared to the first map. Some Gnomes are hidden on the map, like one in the Lighthouse. I’ve marked them in red circles to help you pick them easily.
All Painting Locations in the Coast Map

There are four paintings; unlike the rest of the collectibles, they are easier to find and collect. Compared to the first map, this chapter has four of them. You can miss seeing the painting if you head out at night and start exploring without a flashlight. I would recommend getting your exploration in daytime, so you can see the paintings easily.
That’s it. If you have collected all four collectibles, you can move to the next area. You will need to craft Electronics x3 and Battery Assembler x2 to get to the next area. Don’t worry, even if you miss out on one of them, you can always come back to the spot later on.
