In addition to this, you can also acquire more free characters by clearing missions and participating in events. Can You Obtain Free Characters In Zenless Zone Zero?
Yes, you can get free characters in Zenless Zone Zero without spending any game currency. The first free character choice presents itself at the very beginning of ZZZ. You will be given the option to pick between Belle and Wise as the Main Character. Unlike other characters, Belle/Wise cannot be deployed in combat. However, they can be used exclusively in New Eridu.
In addition to the MC, currently there are seven other free characters in the game.

| Anby & Billy | These are the default characters you can use without performing any additional task. As you will play The Hare and the Proxy Main Commission during the Prologue, these characters will be immediately unlocked. |
| Nicole | While Nicole is a default character as well, you can unlock her only after completing The Hare and the Proxy Main Commission. |
| Ben | Can be unlocked after completing the Call Ben Main Commission during Chapter 2. |
| Soukaku | Can be unlocked after completing the Third Frontier of the Stable Node in Shiyu Defense. |
| Lucy | Speculations suggest that she can be unlocked during the 1.0 Event. |
