Cronos: New Dawn All Weapons Ranked

Survival in Cronos: The New Dawn is not easy. As you explore the ruined world, you will come across different weapons that can help you stay alive. The game features seven main weapons, and each one has its own strengths and weaknesses.

Some are better suited for close-range fights, while others work better against bosses or large groups of enemies. Choosing the right weapon can make the difference between life and death, and can allow you to immerse yourself in the game’s story better.

All Weapons Ranked in Cronos: New Dawn

There are seven weapons to collect in the game. Each one has a unique location and playstyle. While some weapons can be carried all the way to the endgame, others feel situational or fall short due to slow reloads, charge times, or limited ammo.

7. Lance REV-1411

The Lance REV-1411 is designed as a long-range, three-round burst rifle. On paper, it looks strong, but in practice, it is often unreliable. The weapon must be charged before firing, which can be dangerous in close encounters. Even when fired, the spread is wide, making it hard to land all three bullets on a target.

You can find the Lance in the Cemetery’s Safe Room within the Abbey. After collecting the Rusty Key from the cat, you must unlock Father Wojciech’s Office to get the Bell Tower Key.

The weapon waits for you at the top of the Bell Tower. Despite its unique design, most players will find it difficult to use effectively.

6. Mace JER-5120

The Mace JER-5120 is a double-barreled shotgun, essentially an upgraded version of the Hammer. It fires two powerful shells in quick succession, making it great for burst damage.

The drawback, however, is its extremely limited ammo capacity of just two shots before needing to reload. This constant reload cycle leaves you open to attacks.

You can obtain the Mace at Unity Hospital. To get it, you must solve a puzzle in the Chapel by collecting a Chalice from the Director’s Office and a Vasculum from the Operations Block.

Once placed on the Altar, the Chapel Backroom Key becomes available, unlocking the weapon. While strong in the mid-game, it is not always reliable for long-term use.

5. Arbalest MT-1020

The Arbalest MT-1020 acts as a rocket launcher, capable of wiping out multiple enemies with a large explosive blast. It excels during boss fights or when facing large groups.

Unfortunately, it requires a long charge time, leaving you vulnerable. On top of that, its ammo is very limited, restricting its overall usefulness.

This weapon can be collected at Station B Outpost. To get it, you must unlock the Toy Store using a key obtained from the cat inside the Kiosk room. The Arbalest is worth grabbing if you want a powerful option for specific encounters, but it’s not something you can rely on often.

4. Sword MK-1615

The Sword MK-1615 is your starting weapon in the game. At first, it seems basic, but with upgrades, it becomes a surprisingly reliable choice. The pistol has a steady fire rate and solid damage output. It also has a charge ability that lets you shoot through multiple enemies with a single shot.

You receive this weapon at the very beginning of the game. While it struggles a bit with reload and charge times, it can still be carried into the endgame with the right upgrades. Even if you swap to stronger weapons later, keeping the Sword as a backup is always a good idea.

3. Hammer PROV-2030

The Hammer PROV-2030 is a semi-automatic shotgun obtained fairly early in the game. Unlike the Mace, it balances power and reliability. The weapon has a solid spread that can clear multiple enemies at once. With upgrades, it can hold up to five rounds, giving you more flexibility in fights.

To find it, you need to progress to the Quarantined Building during the introduction to Time Oddity manipulation. From there, you can collect the weapon while heading toward the Sector D-3 Housing Project. The Hammer is versatile and dependable, making it one of the better weapons to rely on throughout the game.

2. Dagger PS-3713

The Dagger PS-3713 is an automatic pistol and one of the strongest weapons in Cronos: The New Dawn. It offers a smooth rate of fire, excellent precision, and higher damage than the Sword. You can either fire single bullets for control or hold down the trigger for continuous shots.

You can obtain the Dagger in the Isolation Zone. Specifically, it’s located in the Steelworks area’s trainyard section, inside a safe room near the Travelog: Changing Priority.

This location comes just before acquiring the Grav Boots. With its consistency and damage, the Dagger is a must-have for late-game survival.

1. Javelin LK-102

The Javelin LK-102 is considered the best weapon in the game. It works well at medium to close range, where most encounters happen. The carbine features two firing modes: a three-round burst and a full-auto mode when charged. Its reload speed is also the fastest of all weapons, making it perfect for fast-paced combat.

The Javelin can be found in the Hospital Zone, at the A-0 Gate. Right past the entrance, you’ll find a safe room with the weapon waiting inside. While it lacks long-range power, its balance of damage, reload speed, and fire modes make it the most reliable weapon in Cronos: The New Dawn, and great to get essence.

Each weapon in Cronos: New Dawn has a role to play, but not all are equally effective. Some are situational, while others can carry you from start to finish. The Javelin LK-102 and the Dagger PS-3713 stand out as the strongest, while the Lance REV-1411 and Mace JER-5120 feel limited in practice.
