Enshrouded 1.0 has added Sparkworks, a new logic system that allows you to connect buttons, levers, pressure plates, and traps into interactive circuits. You can also build everything from simple automatic doors to timed spike traps, enemy encounters, and secret passages. Moreover, what makes this more interesting is that you can also share your creations through Adventure Sharing. Apart from the new area, this is one of the best additions to the game.
The Sparkworks Tool is the item you need to wire these components together and edit the logic graph as well. In this guide, I will explain how you can get your hands on the Sparkworks Tool in Enshrouded 1.0.
How to Get the Sparkworks Tool in Enshrouded 1.0
The main way to obtain the Sparkworks Tool in Enshrouded is by finishing the Contraptions and Mechanisms quest. This quest is given to you by the Carpenter. Once you complete the quest, it will reward you with the Sparkworks Workbench and 100 experience points.
Here’s the complete path:

Talk to the Carpenter at your base after you unlock him and have him sheltered. Accept the Contraptions and Mechanisms quest from him as well.

Follow the quest marker to the Trapped Night Sanctum. The Carpenter believes the Ancients left tools and knowledge for building traps and mechanisms inside one of their Night Sanctums.

Enter the said Night Sanctum and search the area. Beware of the trapped areas that you will have to go through.

The Sparkworks Tool is located inside. Pick it up.
You can then return to your base and craft the Sparkworks Workbench at the Carpenter. After that, place the Sparkworks Workbench in your base. This will complete the quest and confirm that you now have the tool.
You will also be able to craft additional Sparkworks Tools later at the Sparkworks Workbench once you have it placed. The tool can also occasionally appear as random loot in chests.
What the Sparkworks Tool Does
Once you equip the Sparkworks Tool in Enshrouded 1.0, you can open the logic graph for any Switchbox or connected component in range. You can link inputs to outputs, such as connecting levers, buttons, pressure plates, and trigger zones with doors, trapdoors, enemy spawns, and more. The graph also supports clocks, blocks, and logic gates such as NOT and OR, so you can set conditions along with their delays.
Switchboxes act as visual hubs for the graphs. You can also rename connections, hide boxes if you want a cleaner look, or simply use the tool to access the circuits too. This is an extremely well-crafted ability that allows you to explore complex mechanics in the game.
I recommend getting the tool as soon as possible once you start a new run in the Enshrouded 1.0 update.
