The Toe Biter Buggy is an immensely useful mount in Grounded 2. It is one of the best underwater mounts and is decent for combat and ground movement as well. However, the process to get the eggs and the recipe for the nest can be quite convoluted. Thus, this guide will cover how to get the Toe Biter Buggy by hatching the egg, while also including the process of obtaining the recipe for the same.
How To Find the Toe Biter Buggy Recipe in Grounded 2

The recipes for the Toe Biter Buggy and the Toe Biter Nest are unlocked by finding and using the Aquatic Optical Disk No. 2. This is found in the Gnarly Bark area (shown above).

You have to get inside the Gnarly Bark tree from an entrance on the south-ish side, next to the memorial. This path is indicated by some large mushrooms growing near it, as seen in the above photo. Once inside, you will be kicked off your mount and be forced to make the rest of the journey on foot.

After you climb upwards, there will be a path leading outwards, where some candles can be seen. Climb upwards and towards the left after going outside to find another entrance into the tree. Head inside to locate a body lying on the ground with the Aquatic Optical Disk No. 2 next to it.
Note: This area will have enemies to fight, but if you are fast enough, you can sprint your way out of trouble most of the time by avoiding all enemies.
Next, take this Optical Disk to any Ranger Outpost, whichever one is closest to you. Interact with the Ranger Station inside to insert the Optical Disk. This will unlock the Toe Biter Buggy for purchase. You can do so with 5,000 Raw Science, but since the Optical Disk gives you 1,000 for inserting it, you only need 4,000 beforehand to meet the cost.
Buying the Toe Biter Buggies will unlock the Toe Biter Buggy and Toe Biter Nest recipes.

How To Get the Toe Biter Egg in Grounded 2

The Toe Biter Egg is obtained by defeating the Papa Toe Biter. This is a ferocious enemy who is susceptible to Spicy attacks, so be sure to bring plenty of those. Watch out for the Venom and Chilling status effects, as its attacks can apply both of these effects simultaneously.

You can find the Papa Toe Biter by going to the memorial in the Gnarly Bark region and going behind the above-shown photo. There will be a cave that leads you to the aforementioned boss.
Note: You will have to click the ‘Harvest Remains’ button after the boss is defeated for the Toe Biter Eggs to drop on the ground.
How To Hatch the Toe Biter Buggy in Grounded 2

You have to carry the Toe Biter Egg all the way back to your base. This is easily done by either utilizing your mount and manually walking all the way back, or the much simpler, dying after placing the egg on the mount and recalling the mount once you are at your base.
This should bring your current mount back to your base, alongside the egg. Now, place it inside the Hatchery and wait for 12 hours. However, before the incubation process can start, you will also need to provide the Hatchery with materials to construct a Toe Biter Buggy Saddle.
