How To Beat The End In Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater

Taking down The End in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is a wild, strategic battle with a bunch of different ways to go about it. You can get into an epic sniper duel, skip the whole thing entirely, or go for a non-lethal takedown. The game is really flexible, letting you play however you want, whether you’re trying to get some unique gear or you just want to get through the story.

I have done it every way possible, and in my opinion, the way you want to do it is the best. There’s no hard and fast rule, so do whatever you are comfortable with when fighting the End. Luckily, this fight hasn’t changed much in the remake.

If you’re up for a head-on fight, the lethal method involves tracking The End across three different areas: South, West, and North Sokrovenno. His camouflage is incredible, so your best bet for spotting him is to use thermal goggles. They let you see him right through foliage and even track his footprints when he moves to a new spot after you hit him.

Keep an eye on your battery life, but they do recharge as you move, and you can get a quick boost with Russian glowcap mushrooms. You can also give away your position by firing an unsilenced weapon or moving without crouching. He’ll fire back with tranquilizer darts, which won’t kill you but will drain your stamina. If your stamina completely runs out, he’ll send you back to the Graniny Gorki jail cell, and you have to start the fight all over again. The SVD sniper rifle is the best choice here, letting you pick him off from a distance.

You have to have a lot of patience for this fight, so take your time. There’s nothing more you can do but wait, get into a good position, and take a shot. You do that enough and look for the blinking light in the distance, which is his sniper, and you’ll win.

If you’re looking for a good reward, the non-lethal approach gives you the Mosin Nagant tranquilizing sniper rifle. For this, you’ll need the Mk22 tranquilizer gun or the cigarette gas spray. Thermal goggles are still super useful, but you’ll need to get closer for your shots to land.

To find him, you can either fire a shot to bait him out or use the Directional Mic to listen for his breathing; it gets louder as you hit him. Once you find him, if you’re brave enough to aim at his head for a long time, he might surrender the Moss camo, which regenerates your stamina and health in grassy areas. Chasing him after he throws a flashbang is also a good way to keep track of him.

You can also completely skip the fight. One way is to snipe him during an early cutscene at the Ponizovje Warehouse: Exterior. You’ll need to grab the SVD sniper rifle from Ponizovje West beforehand. If you pull it off, you’ll face Ocelot’s special forces instead of The End.

Another “unconventional” way is to just let him die of old age. If you save your game during the boss fight, completely quit out, and then manually advance your system clock by at least seven or eight days, you’ll find him dead when you load back in. These skip methods are faster, but you’ll miss out on the awesome rewards like the Mosin Nagant and Moss camo. Honestly, for the best experience and the best gear, fighting him is definitely the way to go, especially with a non-lethal strategy.

Metal Gear Solid Delta How to Get Ammo During the End Fight

If you’re taking on The End in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, you’ve got a seriously tough fight ahead of you, especially if you’re going for the non-lethal route with the tranquilizer gun. The article talks about all the different ways to beat this legendary sniper, but it also mentions a huge problem: running out of ammo for the MK22 tranquilizer gun.

This fight is already a long haul across three huge areas, so running dry on darts can really screw up your plan and force you to change things up on the fly. Thankfully, the game designers were nice enough to give you a way out of that ammo shortage. The article points out that you can actually find MK22 ammo right inside the shed to the left of the first area where you start fighting The End.

This is absolutely critical if you’re trying to do a non-lethal takedown and get The End’s amazing Mosin Nagant sniper rifle. What’s even better is that the ammo respawns after you leave the area, so it’s a renewable resource. If you’re running low on tranquilizer darts, you have a reliable way to restock without having to restart the entire boss fight.

Just like when fighting The Fury, the non-lethal method, which really depends on that MK22, is a lot harder than the lethal option. You have to get up close and personal, and in “New Style” playthroughs, you even have to deal with bullet drop.

Having a source of ammo for the MK22 helps make that a little less frustrating and lets you stick with your chosen strategy. Without that easy resupply, going for a non-lethal run would be way more annoying, and you might have to give up on getting the Mosin Nagant and the Moss camo.

Remember to keep an eye on your thermal goggles’ battery power while you’re hunting for him; it’s essential for spotting The End, so every second counts. That shed is a total lifeline for keeping up your non-lethal attack against that crafty old sniper in Metal Gear Solid: Delta Snake Eater.
