Catching bugs in Palia can be almost therapeutic until you are trying to find and catch a Duskwing Butterfly. This little thing was one of the toughest bugs I have ever attempted to catch in the game. But with some nifty tricks, I was able to finally get my hands on it to make that Mysterious Brew for Tamala’s quest.

Where To Find Duskwing Butterfly In Palia
The Duskwing Butterfly can be found at Maji’s Hollow in Kilima Valley, flying around the Dragon Shrine (only between 3:00 AM and 6:00 PM). I was able to easily spot it in the day rather than in the early morning because of its dark blue and black appearance, so consider attempting this after 12:00 PM.
Catching a Duskwing Butterfly also has a small chance to drop a Blue Hydrangea Flower. However, I noticed that it’s also one of those butterflies that do not drop any Silk Threads like some of the other butterflies I caught before.

How To Catch The Duskwing Butterfly
- Go to the Dragon Shrine and look in the places shown in the picture above.
- As soon as you see the Duskwing Butterfly, throw a Smoke Bomb at it. Use multiple if needed.
- When it’s possible, close the distance and catch it when it is thoroughly stunned and cannot fly away.
Duskwing Butterfly can detect the player very quickly and will attempt to flee away from Smoke Bombs. I used a Sticky Smoke Bomb since this butterfly escapes quickly once it starts moving.
Better yet, I suggest using a Supreme Smoke Bomb if you really have to. The Duskwing Butterfly is worth it!
