Deltarune Chapter 5 has brought over many secrets that require specific routing and executing the most absurd set of actions to reveal the secrets. Among other things, the game has a hidden egg, which is not found easily. You must partake in various activities to grab the egg at the end.
Here, I have listed the three steps you need to follow to grab the Secret Egg in Deltarune Chapter 5.
- Clean the Grass, Release The Secret Balloon
- Solve the Floating Dog puzzle
- Water the grass to the secret room
First, we release the secret balloon, which will direct us to a hidden room within the same location. Then, we must solve a puzzle to enter another secret room, where we will find the egg we are looking for.
Step 1: Clean the Grass, Release The Secret Balloon
From the save point outside the shop with a cat statue out on the front, move to the right. Head down the stairs and enter the wheatfield. Move to the right until you come across a Torii gate. This Torii gate marks the entrance to the second wheatfield. On the other side of the second wheatfield, you will also come across another Torii gate, which marks the exit of the second wheatfield. Why are we focusing on the second wheatfield? Because it has a secret balloon hiding inside the wheat.
When you go through the Torii gate (entrance), you will get a speed boost, and you will also notice all the grass on the ground is getting cleared the second you step on it. The speed boost will quickly lead you to the exit Torii gate, but don’t leave the area. Instead, go through the Torii gate (Exit) to enter the second wheatfield again. Repeat this process until all the second wheatfield is out of any grass or wheat on the ground.
You will also notice that you can’t clean all of them; a small patch in the middle will refuse to leave. This one will require a few more dashes to get rid of it. Once the last patch is gone, an ocean color balloon will appear out of it and start floating left, in the same direction as the house with the cat statue out on the front.
Step 2: Solve the Floating Dog puzzle
When you follow the balloon, you will enter a dark area with multiple dark cubes with switches at their bottom section. You will also spot a balloon floating in the sky with a dog tied to it. Pay attention to the Dog Floating balloon, as it will try to float down and enter a specific cube and touch the button inside. Whenever the balloon or the dog reaches a specific cube, head to that cube and press the button.
Note: The mechanics here are completely RNG; the floating dog will choose the cube randomly in every session.
After pressing several buttons, a Dog-Faced Tea Kettle will spawn in the middle of the room. Congrats, you solved the puzzle, and you can guess the reward is the Kettle. This item will help us solve the last section in the area to grab the final reward.
Step 3: Water the Grass to the Secret Room
The only way out of the room is by taking the route left, but you will notice that the platforms to the way appear invisible. Basically, they are patches of ground with seed placed inside them. And the only way out is to pour water on the patches to help the grass grow from the seed, making the ground walkable.
Now we know what to do: first, interact with the Dog-Faced Tea Kettle, then head over to the left of the area with the seed-filled patches. Walk over them, and the kettle will start pouring water on the patches automatically, creating a walkable route to the area on the left.
Note: The floating dog hasn’t left the area; it will snatch the kettle from your head and place it in the original location. It’s going to happen a lot. When it happens, head over to the puzzle room, take out the kettle from its spawn point, and start watering the patches on the left.
In the secret area, you will find a large tree. Interacting with the tree will give you the information that there is a man hiding behind the tree. So, head behind the tree and talk to the man, and he will bless you with the secret egg.
Note: If you are feeling a bit greedy, after getting the Secret Egg, you can ask the man for more items, but don’t worry, you will get nothing out of him besides more funny dialogue exchanges.
