This upgrade frees you from the restrictions of armor weight when teleporting and gives you the ability to sidestep with great skill. The result? Step 1: Obtain the Ring of Omens
Your quest begins by acquiring the Ring of Omens. To locate this ring, venture into the Yaesha biome and find your way to the Cathedral of Omens. Here’s a breakdown of the process:
1. Ensure that a Blood Moon is active before proceeding. This is crucial for unlocking the door leading to your desired treasure. This can be noticed by the red tint in the room which extends beyond the glow of the checkpoint.
2. Once Blood Moon is active, make your way deeper within the Cathedral of Omens and complete a puzzle to unlock a nearby door. To solve this puzzle you need to interact with the levers in a variety of ways:
Pull the lever near the entrance of the chamber once which will make the structure above move.
Move to the lever near the right side of the chamber and pull it four times. After successfully solving the puzzle, a door will open behind you.
Enter the room and if the Blood Moon is active, a red chamber on the floor will open where the Ring of Omens is hidden.
Step 2: Obtain Special Amulets
With the Ring of Omens in your possession, it’s time to combine it with one of the special amulets to activate Misty Step.
There are a total of 6 special amulets in this regard. These amulets are described in a book placed in one of the Cathedral Rooms. You need to combine any one of them with the ring to convert the Dodge Roll into Misty Step.
Here’s how to obtain these unique amulets:
1. Death’s Embrace: Visit the Forbidden Grove in the Yaesha biome and interact with the Bedel of the Vaunnt, a consumable vendor. Purchase the Death’s Embrace amulet from him for 1000 scrap.
2. Talisman of the Sun: Explore the open areas of Yaesha, particularly the Forgotten Field sub-area. Follow the path to locate a chest at the end, rewarding you with the Talisman of the Sun amulet.
3. Full Moon Circlet: Journey to the Imperial Gardens area of Yaesha. Activate the Blood Moon and look for a statue with a red plate in front of it similar to that of the puzzle with Ring of Omens. The plate will open to reveal a chamber which houses the Full Moon Circlet.
4. Ravager’s Mark: Towards the end of the Yaesha biome, make a choice to defeat the Ravager or the Doe. Opting for the latter will reward you with the Ravager’s Mark amulet.
5. Necklace of Flowing Life: Venture into the dungeons known as The Chimney and The Lament. Look for a rectangular area on the map, the location of which will differ for different players. Here you will find an illusionary wall that houses the Necklace of Flowing Life. Tread carefully as there are a lot of dart traps here. Explore the area to find a sarcophagus that has the Necklace of Flowing Life in it.
6. Red Doe Sigil: In the Red Throne area, engage in conversation with the Eternal Empress. Choose friendly dialogues and finally choose the dialogue – “Kill the beast. What could be easier?”. Travel to Widow’s Court sub-location in the Yaesha biome. Explore the area until you find a building with a staircase that goes underground and you will spot an Ornate Lockbox there. It’s important to remember that you should NOT open the box and return it straight to the Eternal Empress who will reward you with the Red Doe Sigil.
Step 3: Combine the Ring and Amulet
With the Ring of Omens equipped and your chosen amulet in hand, equip them to activate Misty Step. This upgrade will elevate your Dodge Roll to new heights of invulnerability and agility.
