Hollow Knight Silksong is filled with hidden regions that can be unlocked through careful exploration. One such place is Weavenest Atla, a secret area tied to Hornet’s Weaver lineage.
This location is not accessible at the start and requires a special ability to enter. Within its walls, players will find unique NPCs, powerful upgrades, and even a rematch with an earlier boss.
Hollow Knight Silksong: How to Reach Weavenest Atla
Weavenest Atla is a secret region that can only be accessed with the Needolin, an Ancestral Art. To acquire this ability, you must first defeat Widow, a major boss. Once obtained, the Needolin lets Hornet channel her Weaver heritage to open sealed passages. This is the key to unlocking the entrance to Weavenest Atla.
The door to the area can be found in Moss Grotto, the opening region of the game. Head to the right side of the lower grotto, past several platforms where white spinning bugs patrol. There, you will come across a closed door marked with a Weaver symbol. Stand in front of it and use the Needolin until the entrance glows and opens.

Inside, you will first enter the upper floor of Weavenest Atla. This section is safe, with no enemies, so you can move around freely. Continue running to the far right until you find two protruding batteries on the ceiling.
Strike them to restore power in the area. Once powered, go back to the previous chamber and stand at the center of the floor. This activates an elevator, unlocking the lower levels of Weavenest Atla.
Meeting Eva in Weavenest Atla
The lower floor of the nest splits into two paths, one leading to the right and another to the left. If you head right and drop down, you will encounter Eva, an important NPC. She is housed inside a lab tube and seems aware of Hornet’s Weaver bloodline.
Eva plays a significant role in Hornet’s growth. She can upgrade the Hunter’s Crest and grant independent tool slots based on the number of crests you have collected. You can use these slots to equip some of the best tools in the game.
Her upgrades make combat easier and provide new ways to customize Hornet’s abilities in Hollow Knight Silksong. Eva can also be revisited later for further insights and improvements, making her one of the most valuable characters in this region.
Hidden Grotto and the Moss Mother Rematch
If you take the path to the left, you will first come across a bench and a small lake. There is a hidden opening below the left wall of this area. Swim through it, and you will enter the Hidden Grotto.
At the end of this grotto lies the Twin Moss Mother boss fight. Unlike the first Moss Mother encounter, here you must fight two of them at once.
The battle can get chaotic, as both bosses summon smaller enemies and launch heavy attacks. The best way to win is to focus on one Moss Mother quickly before the room fills with too many threats.
Defeating them rewards you with the Weavelight tool, a powerful blue tool that generates extra silk when equipped. This makes it one of the most useful rewards in the mid-game.
Other Rewards and Secrets
Weavenest Atla has more than just Eva and the boss fight. Exploring thoroughly can earn you extra collectibles and upgrades. These include Mask Shards, Spool Fragments that increase silk capacity, and other hidden items like the Rune Harp and challenge rewards.
Each discovery adds to Hornet’s strength and helps with tougher challenges later in the game. This makes it even more worthwhile to explore Weavenest Atla to bring out Hornet’s full potential, considering that Hollow Knight Silksong is much more difficult than the original game.
