The new Arc Raiders Frozen Trail update added a new upgrade system called Amplified Weapons that you can get. This is a long and arduous process that requires a considerable amount of work to unlock in the first place. Even after it is unlocked, you must use a ton of resources to actually be able to upgrade these weapons to their full potential. The effort that you put in, however, is worth it when you get the end result. I will show you the entire process of unlocking these Amplified Weapons, and then how to initiate these upgrades.
What are Amplified Weapons in Arc Raiders Frozen Trail

Amplified Weapons are a new tier of upgrades that you can get. This system lets you add lots of new affixes to your tier IV weapons (after they have been Amplified). You can see an example of this in the image above. The Amplified Rattler can get new attachments like the Drum Mag or Incendiary Rounds. These upgrades require some more resources.
The entire process to unlock these Amplified Weapons will also require you to get tons of new resources from the Pendola Pass map. Most of the materials that you need for all this will be listed below.
How To Unlock Amplified Weapons in ARC Raiders Frozen Trail

There are two basic requirements that you need to meet before you can start this process. These are:
- Level 4 Outpost
- Level 4 Gunsmith
Unlock and Upgrade Outpost

You need to complete a total of 3 missions to unlock the Outpost. These are:
| Missions | Requirement | Additional Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Take a photo of any farmland house around the Ruined Homestead. | Available on the Blue Gate map. |
| 2 | Gather building materials: 3x Planks 5x Sheet Metal 10x Arc Alloy 3x Advanced Electrical Components | Some of these materials are easily available from Celeste, the NPC. |
| 3 | Deal damage to flying ARC enemies – 800 Deal damage to Bullies – 300 | Bullies are found on the new Pendola Pass map. |
After the Outpost is unlocked, build new rooms for this location until it is upgraded to level 4. This is done by using the Outpost Expansion (+) button at the bottom.
Reaching level 4 on this Outpost lets you upgrade the Gunsmith to level 4. Thus, this is a necessary in-between step that you need to complete.
Gunsmith Level 4

After you have unlocked the Level 4 Outpost, the Gunsmith can be upgraded from level 3 to level 4. This will need the following resources:
- 3x Radial Press
- 3x Magnetic Accelerator
- 1x Emperor Modulator
How To Get Emperor Modulator in Arc Raiders Frozen Trail

The other two items are fairly easy to get, but the Emperor Modulator requires a considerable amount of work. Here are the steps to get this rare item:
- Start a run on Pendola Pass during the Redirection map condition.
- Look to the sky to see glowing red beacons, and head to these spots on the map. Raid fallen over beacons to get the Emperor Beacon item.
- Get into an open space and use this item. Note: Get ready to run away after using it, as a lot of debris will also fall from the sky into the surrounding area.
- Among this debris, Harvester Payloads will also fall at the location where you deployed the Emperor Beacon. Loot these to get the Emperor Gateway Conduit Blueprint.
- Also, pick up at least one of the following as well:
- ARC Insulated Coupler
- ARC Conductive Coupler
- ARC Plated Coupler
- Craft the Emperor Gateway Conduit at the Workbench (which needs 1 each of the above-listed materials).
- Also, pick up at least one of the following as well:
- Use the Conduit to head inside the Walker on Pendola Pass. Search the place from top to bottom and get everything you can manage to fit in your inventory.
- This location will have one Emperor Modulator inside.
How To Upgrade Amplified Weapons in Arc Raiders Frozen Trail

If you were lucky enough to get the Emperor Modulator, then upgrade the Gunsmith to Level 4. Afterwards, you will be able to get Amplified Weapons in this same place, provided that you have first upgraded your weapon to Tier IV.
Only a Tier IV weapon can be Amplified. Amplifying a weapon requires an Amplification Module. These differ from weapon to weapon as well; some may need an Amplification Module Mk.1, while others may need Mk. 3.
These Modules are found inside the Walker, so make sure to grab the ones you need on your way out.
