When dealing with the Skinstealer, you need to concentrate on two aspects: the first, of course, is parrying, and the second to ensure that you are light on your feet as well. Using light or medium armor can help you most in coming out on top of this altercation. Beating speed with speed is only part of the challenge. The other challenge, of course, is parrying the Skinstealer’s attacks.
Look To Your Defenses To Come Out On Top
Despite this being a pure sword fight, the Skinstealer does not have any defensive moves of his own. Any weapon that does enough damage in a straightforward sword fight will do. But to gain an advantage, you’ll need something that has one of these three effects: Smite, Poison, and Bleed. Throwables aren’t an option in this encounter, so you can abandon the idea.
Equipping yourself with a shield though is a personal choice in this fight against the Skinstealer in Lords of the Fallen. While a shield can block better and has a better chance of stagger, it reduces your mobility ever so slightly. Furthermore, the option of following the Skinstealer’s example and dual-wielding can prove advantageous if you possess the chops and the gal to go berserk.
