Extraction games are have had a good number of entries recently that enjoyed success, and it is easy to see why – the high-risk, high-reward gameplay provides a competitive looting experience like no other. Like most other extraction games, such as Arc Raiders, Marathon, and some others, Mistfall Hunter has their own ranked mode called the Path of Glory.
Mistfall Hunter is hard as it is, and Path of Glory just adds more spice to it. While unlocking the mode itself is already hard enough, it’s even harder to climb the ladder. After spending hours in the game, there are many things I learnt about the game and how the system works. With that said, here’s a comprehensive guide on Path of Glory.
What is Path of Glory & How To Enter

Path of Glory is a ranked mode in Mistfall Hunter that works alongside normal matches. To enter Path of Glory, you need to manually activate it (not activating it will make you enter unranked mode). To manually access it, you need to access your boat at base and head into the Explore menu. When you pick a map, make sure you click on the checkbox saying “Enable Path of Glory” at the bottom left.
Entering Path of Glory depends on the decision of your entire party. Now, that wouldn’t bar you from joining the ranked mode. Both ranked and unranked players can queue in together, which means you’ll be climbing ranks while your friend decides not to.
How To Unlock Path of Glory in Mistfall Hunter?

Unlocking Path of Glory is straightforward in Mistfall Hunter. To access the rank system, you need to reach level 6 with your character. Now, all players play under the same matchmaking pool, so there’s no way to play in a separate queue.
Don’t rush to progress your character to level 6. You’re still in the tutorial phase; you must learn how each mechanic, player mentality, and map works. Learning extraction timing is pivotal in Mistfall Hunter, so focus on that instead. Furthermore, each ranked season lasts about three to four months, so you’ll get time to climb ranks gradually.
Mistfall Hunter Path of Glory Ranks

To progress your rank, you need to make sure you’re successfully extracting, completing objectives around the maps, and killing enemies (both AI and humans). However, the opposite will occur if you don’t extract. Additionally, the game even introduces a cap on how many points you earn from hunting monsters in a match, so keep that in mind. Here’s a detailed point gain and loss table for Path of Glory:
| Activities | Duskborn to Mistwalker | Dawnseeker to Fateweaver | Oracle to Exalted | Zenith |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard escape | 5 Points | 5 Points | 0 Point | 0 Point |
| Final escape | 10 Points | 0 Point | 5 Points | 5 Points |
| Boss kill | 30 Points | 30 Points | 25 Points | 20 Points |
| Greater elite kill | 20 Points | 20 Points | 10 Points | 5 Points |
| Elite kill | 10 Points | 5 Points | 0 Point | 0 Point |
| Player kill | 20 Points (Caps at 80) | 20 Points (Caps at 80) | 20 Points (Caps at 80) | 20 Points (Caps at 80) |
| Objective completed | 5 Points | 5 Points | 5 Points | 5 Points |
| First to open a container | 1 Point (Caps at 10) | 1 Point (Caps at 5) | 0 Point | 0 Point |
| Failed extraction | 5 Point Loss | 20 Point Loss | 30 Point Loss | 60 Point Loss |
| Per-match cap | 90 Points | 90 Points | 90 Points | 90 Points |
If you’re targeting to climb ranks as a beginner, I’d suggest you play on normal difficulty maps first. While it’s not exactly friendly, it would make the learning curve much easier. As you level up, you need to seek higher difficulty maps and modes for better rewards. This is how you should plan your rank progression:
- Level 1 to 5: Getting used to the maps, what classes fit you, and extraction strategies.
- Level 6: Path of Glory unlocks, but keep focusing on learning the game.
- Level 8 and beyond: Rank climbing and focusing on higher-level explorations.
Currently, Mistfall Hunter has seven distinct rank titles to unlock. You can climb ranks while in normal mode, though a cap gets introduced once you reach Fateweaver rank. From that onward, you need to queue up for difficult lobbies, which is why I mentioned learning the ropes first. Here’s every rank in the game currently from bottom to top.
| Rank Tiers | Rank Divisions | Resets To | Rewards |

| Duskborn | Duskborn I (0 to 499) Duskborn II (500 to 999) Duskborn III (1,000 to 1,499) | 0 | Pro Combat Bag |

Tips To Keep in Mind for Path of Glory

We’ve all felt lost when it comes to devising a progression plan, and I’ve been there too. However, after spending a lot of time with the game itself, there are certain things I wish I had known earlier. Here are some tips you should keep in mind while playing Mistfall Hunter:
- Don’t rely on solo play only. While Mistfall Hunter allows solo play, having a party would make your journey more bearable, especially after you cross the level 6 threshold.
- Not all classes progress the same. Classes like Sorcerer and Blackarrow are great for solo leveling runs in the early game because of their survivability.
- Enter hunts depending on your gear. If you even high-tier hunts with improper gear could lead to a failed extraction. Planning is the key here.
- Focus on journey quests alongside loot extraction. Do not miss out on quest rewards!
- Ego pushing for Path of Glory isn’t optimal (we all do that, but don’t). If you’re losing a lot of ranked matches, try to figure out what you’re lacking. Fix your mistakes and enter the ranked pool accordingly. There’s no rush; you don’t want to be stuck in a loop.
- Improve your survivability-related upgrades at your camp. Investing in them would make your extraction journey much smoother.
- Start preparing for runs beyond Fateweaver. This rank locks point gain, so you need to be prepared for harder battles early on. You may lose points by diving into harder battles, but experience is what you’ll need here.
From my personal experience, I recommend keeping a calm and composed mentality when it comes to rank climbing. Outside of the game, go on short walks to activate your brain. A lot of esports players follow this method, and it works great. That’s all, folks!
