After weeks of teasers, Infinity Ward has unveiled all the intel on what the Modern Warfare 4 beta has in store. Whether you’re a fan of multiplayer, prefer to drop into Warzone, or experience the single-player campaign, this year’s beta has something for everyone. With a huge amount of content across the two weekends, you’ll get your first taste of what Modern Warfare 4 has to offer before its full release. What’s Included in the Modern Warfare 4 Beta?

Across the Early Access and Open Beta weekends, Infinity Ward has included a campaign mission for the very first time. You can experience the Entrenched mission for a small taster of the latest entry into the modern-day Modern Warfare series.
Multiplayer remains a big focus of the beta. Alongside the traditional dose of core 6v6 action on a selection of brand-new maps and game modes, you can also experience Kill Block, a mode where the map features over 500 different layouts.
Lastly, you can drop into a brand-new Warzone Resurgence map. Codenamed Zodiac, the Modern Warfare 4 beta is the first opportunity for battle royale fans to see what Warzone’s future has in store.
All Modern Warfare 4 Multiplayer Beta Content
Even with a campaign mission and access to a new Resurgence map, multiplayer remains the core focus of the Modern Warfare 4 beta weekends. Below is the full list of content you can experience:
- Five multiplayer maps
- New Kill Block mode
- Ground War
- 10v10 and 3v3 Gunfight
- Ten game modes
- Apex Attachments
The beta is only a small slice of the full Modern Warfare 4 experience. Two weekends of playing before launch also allow Infinity Ward to collect feedback and address any issues that may arise as huge numbers take to the servers.
When Is the Modern Warfare 4 Beta?
The Modern Warfare 4 beta begins on August 21st, 2026, immediately after the COD Next broadcast. The Early Access weekend ends on August 25th, giving you plenty of time to experience all single-player, multiplayer, and battle royale offerings.
If you haven’t pre-ordered the game, the Open Beta takes place from August 28th until September 1st. Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2 players can all take part.
