Catacombs offer more than a home to the dead; in Moonlight Peaks, gaining access to the Catacombs will help you get around the town quickly. But the game doesn’t let you waltz into the catacombs; you must take part in a certain questline and complete it to unlock the area. This guide will cover all the steps to unlock the Catacombs and navigate the underground passage system in Moonlight Peaks.
How to Get into the Catacombs in Moonlight Peaks
The Twilight Catacombs can be unlocked using the Dracula Insignia key, via the Crypt located at the Ruby Farms. So, first we get the key, then we head down the catacombs. Later in the article, I’ll highlight all the shortcut areas that are part of the underground passage system of the Catacombs. The crypt serves as an entrance point for the Twilight Catacombs.
How to Get the Dracula Insignia Key
Dracula Insignia Key is part of a reward for completing the Museum donation activity in the game; it is part of the “A Key to the Deep” questline.
Get to the Museum located in the area sandwiched between Moonlight Peaks and Howling Marshes (As shown in the image above). Once you head inside the Museum, you will find the area is separated into five different rooms: Deity, Farming, Aquarium, Critter, and Supernatural. One thing that will be common in every room is the option to donate items.
Approach the Arch, then choose the room to submit the item; now click the Exclamation Mark signboard to donate the item. Just like Gifts for dating different characters, the items needed for museum donation are also going to be specific, as special icons mark them.
Once you start donating items to each room in the Museum, you will increase the overall Museum Progress. You would want to hit the Museum Progress at 25% for Jada to reward you with the Dracula Insignia Key, which triggers the “A Key to the Deep” quest.

Note: The Museum unlocks by completing the following quests: A New Beginning/ Museum in the Making/ and Curating the Museum.
Once you have the key, head inside the Crypt located inside the Ruby Farm area. Head inside and talk to a bat named Viktor. After exhausting all the dialogue, Viktor will allow you to go through the trapdoor that leads to the underground area of the crypt. Simply leave the crypt and then head through the small trap door attached to the Crypt’s exterior. It will lead you to the basement, which will take you directly to the Twilight Catacombs.
Underground Passage System
Twilight Catacombs is an underground passage system that connects to different parts of the main map; it has seven exits; five of them can be unlocked from inside.
On your first visit, you will find Jada near the toad fountain, and Viktor will soon follow, leading to a cutscene. After the cutscene, you are free to move through the crypt. You will notice the area has many exits; each of them leads to different sections of the map. Essentially, the Crypt provides a quick shortcut to the major spots on the map. I’ve marked the names of the highlighted areas on each exit on the image to get used to the crypt method of travelling.
Note: Out of all exits, the exit to The Broken Lamp is somewhat hidden; you must sleep till the next day, and you will get an email from Samael. Talk to him, and he will open the door to the Broken Lamp to gain access to the Twilight Catacombs.
That’s it; now you can travel all around the map without consuming too much of your time on the daily commute.
