Side quests show more about the world and characters; sometimes, they are easier to find, and other times, you have to put in a bit of effort to hunt them down. But when you do go through the specific requirements of the side quests, the rewards at the end make it all worthwhile. Rainy Night Tale in Neverness to Everness is an interesting side quest that went hidden for many players. I can’t blame them, as the quest requires a bit of a weird way to start this one. Here’s how to go about doing that.
How to Start the Rainy Night Tale Quest in NTE
You will need to be on a specific road, near the Coastal Highway in Bridge Crossing, on a rainy night to start the quest.
- First step is to head to Bridge Crossing, near the Coastal Highway Z42, east of White Parrot Street. You don’t have to enter any building or get on the ceiling, just be on the road. The picture above shows where exactly you need to be to start the quest.
Note: Set the time to Night and Weather to Rainy. Both need to be changed to Rainy and Night to kick-start the quest.

You will have to wait a bit for the quest to start automatically when you are in the targeted spot.
- After setting the time and weather, stay on the same street, and soon a new objective will pop up on your screen. And we will get our first task, which is to eavesdrop on two students talking on the side of the road.
Just stay close to them to hear their dialogue, as they will soon head inside the laundry shop to seek shelter from the rain.
After eavesdropping on their conversation, they will both enter the laundry shop. And the objective will then get updated to join the students in the laundry shop to continue with the rest of the quest in NTE.
