Palworld 1.0 is slated for official release on July 10, 2026, and brings a plethora of new content. However, players who’ve already established themselves in the early access version may worry about starting over with the official release. While a wipe isn’t mandatory, Pocketpair has recommended doing so. Here’s everything you should know about the upcoming update.
Do You Need To Wipe Your Data for Palworld 1.0?

It has been officially confirmed by Pocketpair that early access players don’t have to wipe their save files for the official release. John “Bucky”, Head of Communications and Publishing at Pocketpair, addressed the matter via Discord, stating, “Players can continue their existing saves if they wish, as we want to respect the time and effort you have put in.”
Although Bucky mentioned in the same post that it is recommended to enjoy the experience with a wipe. Since the full release will feature reworked gameplay mechanics and content, a fresh start would provide a better experience. Regardless, this choice completely depends on the players.
Thus, all progression accumulated during the early access period will remain intact and transfer seamlessly to the full release. For someone like me, who has spent hours in the game, this comes as a sigh of relief to have both options on the table – if the new content looks as good and extensive as promised, then I just might start with a brand new game.
What Can You Expect With Palworld 1.0?

One of the biggest highlights of Palworld 1.0 is the new explorable areas. Remember the world tree from far off distances? Now, you can visit it and look at it in its full glory. There are also floating islands and Wildlife Sanctuaries that you can explore.
Exploration aside, there are dozens of new Pal additions, including a Pal that can transform into a weapon. This new Pal even has the ability to aid your mobility and even allow vertical traversal.
Tower Bosses are also seeing changes with Palworld 1.0, as they’ve been completely reworked. Now they’ll have new attack patterns and elemental environments that can aid you in the fight. Speaking of bosses, Raids will also be overhauled with the upcoming update to make them less predictable.
While technical improvements are major highlights of the new update, there are also story reworks. You can now expect story-driven missions that will take you on different adventures and help you immerse yourself in the world a little better.
