The act of exorcism does require divine intervention, and in PEAK, you will have to do a similar action to burn up the giant ghost. While the ghost here might look cuddly and cute, the second they get close to you, they will blow up, dealing cold damage. The best thing to do is burn them while they’re “alive.”

How to Burn up the Big Ghost in PEAK
The only way to burn up the big ghost is by ringing the bell hidden in the GLOOM area. Right under the purple hue, you will find these bells. The second way of getting rid of the ghost includes using the Candlesticks.
While the GLOOM area has many small ghosts floating into the air, you will eventually come across big ghosts; they are round and appear much bigger than the tiny ghosts in the area. Once they spot you, they will trigger a chase; here, the best course of action is to get to the closest Bell Tower and ring the bell; the bell spot will immediately create a gloom-free zone. Once the ghost enters the zone, it will evaporate into the air. Finding the bells can be a bit difficult, as they are well hidden, but the game gives you clues that you can use to pinpoint their locations.
The Candlesticks work the same as the bell tower, as the candles will burn up for 30 seconds. An ample amount of time to get rid of any ghosts. You will find the Candlesticks inside the Explorer’s Luggage. Besides their ghost-clearing ability, candlesticks are also great at blocking sleep damage in GLOOM.
If you use the Bell Tower method, then you must lure the ghost to the tower to make the exorcism or burning work. On the other hand, candlesticks act as a portable bell tower that you can carry with you everywhere. I will recommend the bell tower method of taking care of the ghost, since it’s not going to cost you anything; especially if you are looking to unlock the Bellringer Badge, this is something you will then be doing in any case.
How to Spawn the Giant Ghost
The ghosts, on the other hand, are easy to come across; just hang out in the GLOOM area or foggy part of the biome for too long, and you will see a giant round ghost following you. The game also plays music in the background signaling their appearance or arrival. Use the ambient music as an indicator to make a rush to the Bell Tower.
Since you are being chased by a ghost, it can fly through the terrain with no problem. So don’t try to hide behind a tree or a rock; it won’t work on the ghost. Only rely on the bell tower’s sound to burn up the ghost, just like in Spider-Man 3 with Venom.
