Quasimorph has a unique mechanic named Quasimorphosis, which literally dictates how your missions go. However, this negative effect only kicks in if a location has active Quasimorphosis. If you’re freshly starting, it’s natural to feel the frustration around it.
To help you around, I’ll share with you tips I use during my gameplay to resolve Quasimorphosis. While I do that, this guide will also help you understand the mechanic itself and how it affects you.
What Is Quasimorphosis in Quasimorph?

While Quasimorphosis is directly tied to the narrative, I’ll break down the effect. First off, it is a natural stress buildup that occurs with violence and suffering. So, whether you’re fighting enemies, taking damage, or eating meat products, the indication meter will increase nonetheless.
Now, Quasimorphosis dictates how your mission goes. If you have a higher level of Quasimorphosis, it’s likely the mission will get more difficult, and the effect happens in stages. Here’s what happens at each stage:
- Stage 1: Somnia (Nothing happens.)
- Stage 2: Grasp (Ecolapse happens occasionally)
- Stage 3: Intrusion (Higher chances of Ecolapse occurring, and Quasimorph become more aggressive.)
- Stage 4: Plenum (Even higher chances of Ecolapse.)
- Stage 5: Alteration (Enemies would actively know your location and attack you.)
- Stage 6: Q-morphos (Every host on the map will explode.)
- Stage 7: Rapture (All allied or friendly temporary quasimorphic entities and units on the stage die, while spawning a Baron to hunt you down.)
The main threat that dictates your mission here is Ecolapse. If you don’t keep it in check, your character is likely to be torn from within and bring demons to life. Thus, it’s important to keep the Quasimorphosis meter seriously.
How To Deal With Quasimorphosis in Quasimorph?

A few of the most common ways to deal with Quasimorphosis include acquiring and using items. Be it cigarettes, poppy, morphine, or alcohol, the decision is yours to make here. If you’re skilled enough, you just don’t care and proceed with killing the baron.
Now, of course, killing isn’t always the play, as it directly affects Quasimorphosis. Or sometimes, you may not have the required items to fight off the darkness. In such dire scenarios, I’ll recommend that you follow some hard and fast rules.
First off, don’t engage with enemies until and unless it’s mandatory. Moreover, treat your Quasimorphosis meter as a timer to plan your mission. If you’re going to destinations with more floors, you should adjust your plans accordingly. I’d also suggest you avoid meat and rely on normal food.
The worst mistake you can make is to rely on Baron’s spawning in. If you’re purely relying on that, the RNG can leave you in a pickle. There’s no saying if your operative would be in a condition to face the monstrosity. In simple words, playing it safe is the only option you’re left with.
Additionally, try to keep the Quasimorphosis from reaching the critical point until you reach your objective. Also, while you’re heading there, keep a clear plan for your exit.
