Sonic Racing Crossworlds Friendship Explained

In Sonic Racing Crossworlds, you can now level up your friendships with your favorite characters, and it’s a pretty cool mechanic. It’s a system that’s unlocked after you’ve finished all seven Grand Prix races.

As you get closer to your characters, you can get a bunch of different cosmetic items, like new banners and decals. This whole system is a great way to get you to engage with the huge cast of characters and rewards you for just playing the game.

How Do Friendships Work In Sonic Racing Crossworlds?

In Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, you can unlock a cool new feature called Friendships after you finish all seven Grand Prix events. This system lets you build bonds with your favorite characters, and as your friendship level goes up, you can earn some awesome rewards. The way you increase a character’s friendship level is by “gifting” them Donpa Tickets. You get these tickets just by competing in races and finishing special challenge objectives, so it’s pretty straightforward to earn them.

To be fair, while the friendship system is a nice touch for getting cosmetics, some players are a bit concerned about the game’s overall item balance. Certain items, like “King Boom Boo” and the “weight item,” are described as pretty brutal. They can completely destroy your momentum or even take away your items, which means having a good defense gadget is crucial if you want to be competitive.

It’s important to remember that this friendship system and the Donpa Tickets are a different way to unlock content compared to other methods, like beating teams in Race Park to unlock vehicles or completing the Grand Prix to unlock new levels and Super Sonic. The whole Donpa Ticket system adds a cool new layer to how you progress and customize your game.

How to Increase Friendship in Sonic Racing Crossworlds

Getting a deeper bond with the characters in Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is one of the coolest parts of the game, since it can unlock a bunch of rewards. You can get a lot of great cosmetic items like banners and hologram skins for rival teams. The main way to level up your friendship with characters is by giving them “Donpa Tickets,” which you can get by just competing in races and finishing some special challenges in the game.

The friendship system isn’t something you can get into right away, since you have to clear all seven Grand Prix races first. This also unlocks a few other things, like Supersonic Speed and mirror tracks, so it seems like this friendship thing is a late-game activity. It’s a nice, direct way to feel like you’re personally investing in your favorite characters, making the whole progression feel more rewarding.

You’ll keep getting more unique cosmetic items as you keep gifting tickets and increasing those friendship levels, which gives you more ways to customize your game and a better sense of accomplishment. This feature is a great way to reinforce the bond between you and the huge roster of Sonic the Hedgehog characters.

All Friendship Benefits

In the new Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds game, a new Friendship system has been introduced, and it’s a great way to earn some cool cosmetics. The main thing you need to do is beat all seven of the main Grand Prix races first.

Once you’ve done that, you can start building a bond with your favorite characters by giving them “Donpa Tickets.” As your friendship level with a character goes up, you get rewarded with more cosmetic items, including special banners and decals to trick out your ride. For example, if you give tickets to Blaze, you’ll unlock the “Blaze the Cat” title and a “Blaze Mark” decal. You can also get the “Zazz” title and “Zazz Mark” decal by increasing your friendship with Zazz, while befriending Espio gets you the “Espio the Chameleon” title.

The cool thing about this system is that it’s not just about looks; it’s also a part of the gameplay. When you reach higher friendship levels, you can unlock “hologram skins” that look like the rival teams you see in Race Park mode. This is a way that this game is better than Mario Kart.

As you can see in the video, when you give tickets to Blaze, you get a title and then a decal, with the “Tickets gifted” counter going up each time. This shows it’s a tiered reward system, so the more tickets you give, the more items you get in Sonic Racing Crossworlds.
