Starfield Akila City makes you wonder if you have stepped into a Wild West movie production filled with decked-out space cowboys. Home to the Freestar Collective, this “Red Dead Redemption” themed city, acts as one of the central hubs in the game.
While Akila City might be a visit-worthy place, locating this place can get a little difficult early on, especially when there are tons of planets and star systems scattered around the galaxy. Here’s how you can find the city and know everything it offers.
Starfield Akila City Location
Akila City can be found on the Akila planet, located in the Cheyenne Star System. The easiest way to find the Cheyenne Star System is to look directly north of the Olympus Star System on Starfield’s map. The fastest way to reach Akila City is to grav jump from Alpha Centauri directly to planet Akila of the Cheyenne system.
The Empty Nest mission, quite early on in the main quest, directly takes you to Akila City. However, as is the case with other Bethesda RPGs, the world, or in this case, the galaxy is your oyster. You do not have to wait for your main storyline to catch up to that point to visit the place. You can head over there as soon as your prologue mission is completed in Starfield.
The History of Starfield Akila City
Akila City was founded and built by Solomon Coe in 2167. The city borders are walled off to protect the Freestar Collective citizens from an alien creature called Ashta. Going outside the city walls at night is strictly forbidden as the Ashtas are more likely to attack.
The fighters amongst the Freestar Collective known as the Freestar Rangers were heavily involved in the Colony War against the United Colonies. However, the Armistice Agreement taken by the two factions resulted in some cooperation among them prior to when the game’s story ensues.
Starfield Akila City areas
Akila City is divided into three notable areas:
- Core District
- Midtown District
- The Stretch
Core District
The core district of Akila City has quite a few points of interest comprising the Freestar Ranger Headquarters, Galbank, The Rock (Akila City’s military base), Rowland Arms gun store, and The Hitching Post where you can clear any bounty and accept certain missions in the game.
Midtown District
The midtown houses the Coe Heritage Museum, the Stretch Apartment which you can buy for a small fee, Akila City’s Trade Authority office, Laredo Firearms, and many more shops and places to visit if you wish to tour the city.
The Stretch
Known as the Starfield Akila City slum area, the Stretch is home to many less fortunate people in the city. You can visit the Aldwin Wright Workshop, and take a gander at Honest Earl’s Alien Extravaganza if you ever stumble upon this part of town.
