WARNING: This article contains major spoilers for the story of Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League.
How Does Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League End?
Towards the very end of the game, The Suicide Squad, armed with specialized weapons takes on the Justice League members—The Flash, Batman, and Superman—and kills them. They then take on Brainiac and kill him in the final boss battle. Shortly after that, a Lex Luthor from an alternate universe reveals two major things. These things make the ending of Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League both complicated and exciting.
First of all, he reveals that Brainiac had genetically modified JL members’ DNA, so their deaths aren’t permanent. This can be explained by how The Flash’s fingers were seen rapidly growing back in one of the game’s early cutscenes, as well as how Green Kryptonite had little to no effect on Superman. So none of the JL members are dead, only free from Brainiac’s mind-control as he is now dead.
Secondly, he claims that the Suicide Squad now needs to eliminate 12 additional Brainiacs, spread in different universes throughout the multiverse. These Brainiacs, along with the one recently killed by the Squad were planning on taking over the entire multiverse. The game ends with Task Force X gearing up to take on this dirty dozen.
This sets up this live-service game’s endgame perfectly, as it sets up two things. Firstly, no members of JL are dead, so creating more games in Arkhamverse won’t be difficult. Batman’s death scene was recently leaked and it shocked a whole lotta people. This way, Rocksteady can keep amazing us with more adventures of the Caped Crusader.
Secondly, the continuation of Task Force X through multiverse to take on different Brainiacs offers a host of exciting new possibilities. Each of these universes represents a chance for something a little different and a chance for Rocksteady to introduce more and more playable characters as well as bosses and mini-bosses in each universe.
