Heading into the fifth day since Armored Core 6’s release, those of you who have beaten the game might be feeling a little blue that the game ended too soon. But since this is a FromSoftware game, there’s good news. You can now enjoy tons of content you probably skipped through in the first go and lots of additional stuff in the Armored Core 6 New Game Plus playthrough.
The NG+ option only unlocks after you’ve beaten the game and it takes you back to the first chapter. Here is an overview of the exciting things that await you in Armored Core 6 New Game Plus.
Armored Core 6 New Game Plus missions
As you reach the end of the game, you can have multiple endings in the game. Once you have finished the final mission of the game you’ll be given access to the NG+ start. Once you begin this playthrough, you’ll be taken directly to the ‘Destroy Artillery Installation’ mission thereby skipping the tutorial ‘Illegal Entry’. This marks the official start of the new playthrough where you can explore everything in more detail and take a different approach to finish missions.
You can also make alternate decisions in each mission and crossroads points to see how things play out. While this can be quite an exciting way to relive the game once more, FromSoftware have been quite generous with their content. So, now you get an alternative mission approach and ending for ‘Attack the Complex’ in Chapter One.
Additionally, you also get two NG+ exclusive missions in Chapter 3 named ‘Prevent Corporate Salvage of New Tech’ and ‘Defend the Dam Complex’. These are exciting missions that will allow you to enjoy some unique content and explore options that weren’t available in the original playthrough.
As far as missions are concerned this is the extent to which the New Game Plus playthrough varies from the original. So, you’ll be left to just replay most of the other missions with this start.
Armored Core 6 New Game Plus additional content
While the missions may be too limited for your liking, there are lots of other features and content to be explored. New Game Plus features new arena battle modes which will allow you to enjoy better multiplayer battles. Furthermore, you gain access to a plethora of new weapons and frame parts which can make building ACs an even more exciting affair.
Can you carry on achievements and unlocks from the first playthrough?
Fortunately enough, FormSoftware has decided to reward you generously for the time and effort you have invested in Armored Core. So, all your unlocks and achievements from your first playthrough will be intact upon restarting the game. Furthermore, all your COAM will also be carried on to the new game. This could make your builds a little overpowered in the second playthrough but all that can be overlooked for the fact that the sooner you finish New Game Plus, the sooner you’ll unlock New Game Plus Plus which has lots of exclusive and alternate missions for you to enjoy and relive.
So, you can consider NG+ as just an interlude to NG++ which has an extensive and robust assortment of missions that can be both challenging and enjoyable. Also, this is how you progress towards unlocking the true ending of AC6.
