Analogue Pocket, a multi-video-game-system compatible handheld gaming console will be producing a limited-edition lineup. Paying tribute to the classic Game Boy Advance, this rare series will be available in eight uniquely vibrant colors.
The new Analogue Pocket lineup features yellow, red, green, deep blue, pink, orange, purple, and silver colors, modelled after retro colors of the Game Boy Advance as well as Game Boy Pocket by Nintendo. The color scheme for these new consoles seems to be inspired from the popular Game Boy series released in 1990s and early 2000s.
This new lineup of Analogue Pocket is expected to go on sale on the Analogue Store, starting November 17, 2023 from 11AM ET/ 8PM PST. The package will ship with a console and a USB-C cable, and one customer will be able to order a maximum of two consoles.
According to the manufacturers, these consoles featuring ‘purely eye bleeding color’ will be ‘available in highly limited quantities’. Analogue announced that consoles ordered on November 17 will start shipping on Nov 20, 2023. This new range of vibrantly colored limited edition Analogue Pocket consoles will be priced at $249.99.
New Analogue Pocket Pays Homage To Retro Game Boy Consoles
Analogue Pocket console is equipped to run the game cartridges intended for use on Game Boy, Game Boy Advance, and Game Boy Color. Players can simply use their original game cartridges without installing a separate emulator, offering a unique chance to revisit some of the classic Game Boy titles. Users will be able to play games such as Sonic Advance, Metroid Fusion, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, and Donkey Kong ’94, among countless others.
Apart from the Pocket console, Analogue also sells cartridge adapters for several other retro handheld gaming consoles, such as Atari Lynx and Sega Game Gear. In October 2023, Analogue had also announced plans to develop a brand-new console called ‘Analogue 3D’ in 2024. This upcoming console will be able to run retro games compatible with famed Nintendo 64.
Previously, Analogue had released various limited-edition lineups for its Pocket console, including two that released in 2023. One of them featured consoles with glow-in-the-dark colors, while the other was inspired by vibrant transparent colors of ’90s iMac computers. These special consoles are indeed produced in extremely limited quantity. As a result, both these lineups are, as of now, completely sold out.
