A never-seen before gameplay clip of the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Mirage has recently been leaked on Reddit. In this very short video, we can see the protagonist of the game, Basim, running in a desert town, supposedly Baghdad. The clip shows Basim’s signature cloak flailing about and people staring at him suspiciously, moving aside as he sprints.
The quality of this clip is extremely poor (240p), yet it allows us a glimpse into vibrantly colored and beautifully rendered world of Assassin’s Creed Mirage. The game has already generated a lot of hype, as it is the first mainline entry in the Assassin’s Creed series in three years. The gaming community has welcomed the clip with extreme enthusiasm, one person even claiming,
“I am so starved for info on Mirage that I looked at this gif in loop for 5 minutes already.”
The clip has already sparked lively conversations and debates on Reddit, with fans of the popular stealth action RPG series making predictions about the gameplay of Assassin’s Creed Mirage. Some fans believe the game is going back to its genesis, with character movement and style eerily reminiscent of Assassin’s Creed Unity rather than the latest installments, such as Origins or Valhalla.
Fans are also loving the art style of the game, which looks promising in the short clip depicting few structures, dusty desert roads, and a variety of shrubbery and palm/date trees. Even in the gif-like 2 second clip, people have cheered about the cloth physics in upcoming Assassin’s Creed Mirage, with several fans criticizing the cloth physics in other installments, such as Origins and Odyssey.
Fans are looking forward to the official gameplay reveal by Ubisoft in their next Ubisoft Forward Showcase. The announcement and gameplay footage release are anticipated to happen over the next couple of months, as various rumors have placed the release of Assassin’s Creed Mirage in August 2023.
