Microsoft has announced all the new titles coming to Game Pass in January 2024 and it includes a couple of AAA titles, such as Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Resident Evil 2.
As per the announcement made through Xbox Wire, subscribers of Game Pass can get their hands on various new games in January 2024, including Bioshock-esque walking sim Close to the Sun, starting today. Other games being included in the Game Pass catalog are as follows:
- Hell Let Loose (FPS based on the battlefields of WW2) – Jan 4, 2024
- Assassin’s Creed Valhalla (Precursor to Assassin’s Creed Mirage, set in the time of Vikings) – Jan 9, 2024
- Figment (an action-adventure game exploring a surreal universe filled with humor and music) – Jan 9, 2024
- Super Mega Baseball 4 – Through EA Play (arcade-inspired Baseball game) – Jan 11, 2024
- We Happy Few (action-adventure game based in a retro-futuristic city) – Jan 11, 2024
- Resident Evil 2 (Remastered version of Capcom’s famed classic title) – Jan 16, 2024
- Those Who Remain (Story-driven FPS Psychological Thriller) Jan 16, 2024
Note: All these titles will be available for the subscribers through the cloud, console, and PC.
Apart from confirming the games that are being added to the Game Pass catalog, Microsoft has also announced the game that will be leaving the service. This includes GTA V which leaves the service on January 5, 2024. GTA V has had a long and winding road with Microsft’s Game Pass, with the title being off the service once again, merely six months after it was re-introduced to the catalog.
Apart from GTA V, four other titles are set to leave the service on January 15, 2024—Persona 4 Golden, Persona 3 Portable, MotoGP 22, and Garden Story.
A curious thing I’d like to note is that GTA V and MotoGP 23 were added to Sony’s PS Plus subscription service only last month. While there is no official information about exclusivity for subscription catalogs, it appears that these titles have changed camps for the time being.
