With the overwhelmingly positive response Larian Studios’ latest release has received since its release a fortnight ago, fans are abuzz with the prospects of Baldur’s Gate 3 Update 1. As impressive as the game has been so far, there have been a few bugs that were noticeable during gameplay. While Update 1 is aimed at fixing the bugs, Larian Studios has also claimed that it will be making some useful tweaks that fans will appreciate.
Larian Studios’ CEO Sven Vincke has been quite active on Twitter and has been keeping gamers up-to-date on various developments in Baldur’s Gate 3. In a recent tweet, he thanked fans for their overwhelming support and announced that Baldur’s Gate 3 Update 1 will feature over 1000 fixes and tweaks. He also revealed that some of these updates were based on fan requests.
We're all very enthused by your feedback. It's very rewarding. Our focus now is fixing any issues you report, but we are listening to suggestions. Current roadmap: a) Hotfix 4, b) Patch 1 (+1000 fixes and tweaks), c) Patch 2. The latter will already incorporate some requests.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Update 1: Content revealed So far
Although not much is known about the fixes and updates coming with Patch 1, recent social media activity from Larian Studios hints at the inclusion of some fan requests. Larian’s Director of Publishing Michael Douse hinted at the inclusion of the option to change characters’ appearance mid-game in a cryptic tweet. He did so while responding to a fan who requested for such a feature to be included in the game.

Sven Vincke in his tweet mentioned that the devs at Larian Studios were open to suggestions and they will hopefully incorporate changes that fans feel might improve gameplay. In the game’s Steam community forum, Larian Studios thanked fans for their support and revealed a roadmap for future updates. There have already been a few hotfixes for some prominent bugs in the game. As of now, there have been three hotfixes that have squashed at least over 700 minor issues since release.
Larian Studios’ active interactions with gamers on social media and various communities hint at the possibility of some reasonable requests being incorporated into the game at some point in the future, if not with Baldur’s Gate 3 update 1. It is worth mentioning though that there have been tons of requests on the community forum, some of which could be useful while others are less than reasonable.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is already the best-reviewed game of the year with a Metacritic score of 97/100. It is also 2023’s best-selling game on PC so far. Larian Studios intends to continue improving upon the game to ensure that it continues receiving the patronage and support of gamers.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is out on PC and is set for launch on PS5 on September 6, 2023.
