Amidst the excitement for Starfield release, Bethesda has announced the preload dates for PC and Xbox console players.
Players on the Xbox Series X|S consoles will be able to preload Starfield starting Thursday, August 17. Furthermore, gamers who have purchased the title from the official website or means other than Steam Store will also be able to preload the game from August 17. Players with their copies on Steam Store, however, will be able to download the game starting Wednesday, August 30.
Since Starfield features a massive download size of over 125 GB for both Xbox and PC, early preload dates are surely welcomed by the gaming community. Fans are over the moon, with thousands of players waiting to get their hands on Bethesda’s most ambitious title.

Starfield is shaping up to be one of the biggest releases of 2023, a year earmarked by many popular releases such as Baldur’s Gate 3, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, Dead Space, Hogwarts Legacy, Atomic Heart already out. And Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Forza Motorsport, Payday 3, Mortal Kombat 1, and Lies of P are soon to follow.
Starfield Release Schedule
Starfield will release on September 6 for Xbox Series X|S and PC. Players who have purchased the Premium or Constellation Editions of the game will be able to start their space exploration journey early, with early access starting from September 1.
Early access for Starfield will be launched based on the following schedule:
- US (East Coast): Thurs, August 31 at 8 PM (EDT)|
- US (Central): Thurs, August 31 at 7 PM (CDT)
- US (West Coast): Thurs, August 31 at 5 PM (PDT)
- UK: Fri, Sep 1 at 1 AM (BST)
- Europe: Fri, Sep 1 at 2 AM (CEST)
- Japan: Fri, Sept 1 at 9 AM (JST)
- Australia & New Zealand: Fri, Sep 1 at 10 AM (AEST)
