Revolution Beauty London, a company specializing in haircare, skincare, and cosmetic products, has partnered with Fortnite. This new collection, dubbed the ‘Revolution X Fortnite’, has been recently announced, leaving gaming fans and Revolution’s customer base wondering and craving more details about the upcoming cosmetics lineup.
The Fortnite community on social media seems to be looking forward to tasteful, bold, and whimsical makeup products inspired by the colorful world and characters of the battle royale. After getting a whiff of the collaboration, however, data miners and leakers are having a field day. According to a recent tweet thread by popular gaming news expert iFireMonkey, the upcoming collection could consist of face palettes, nail polish, sponges, brushes, face masks, and lip gloss/lip oil.
While these cosmetic products are meant for physical application by users, game players also have an incredible opportunity to change their appearance in-game from May 2. They will be able to cosmetically change their character’s appearance to Anakin Skywalker.
Entertainment/Gaming titles and makeup collabs: A popular new strategy
Collaborations between video game creators and cosmetic companies may seem out of place, however, they are not unheard of. Before this exciting development, makeup company ColourPop collaborated with the superhit Nintendo Switch title Animal Crossings: New Horizons for their game-inspired makeup product line in 2021.
Also in 2021, world-renowned cosmetics company MAC collaborated with The Sims. Furthermore, this isn’t Revolution Beauty’s first rodeo in entertainment collabs. Most notable of their previous makeup collabs include Disney’s The Lion King & Minnie Mouse, Game of Thrones, FRIENDS, The Simpsons, DC, and hit movies, such as Beetlejuice and Coraline.
