As per Krafton’s latest earning report, the tentatively titled Project Black Budget is targeting a launch in the latter half of 2024.
Project Black Budget is being developed by the makers of PUBG and was in the news earlier this year. Krafton had revealed in its FY22 earnings report that the PvPvE shooter would be launched in either 2024 or 2025. The company’s Q3 2023 earnings report has now narrowed down the launch window to 2H24 (the 2H stands for second half).
The report also includes the first Project Black Budget poster, which is most probably a concept art for internal purposes. Nonetheless, it offers a mysterious look into the general vibe of the game. The poster introduces us to a secret, seemingly abandoned underground facility taken over by vegetation.
The latest report reconfirms that Project Black Budget is an extraction shooter. While it’s public knowledge that the game isn’t PUBG 2 but something entirely new, the concept art clearly carries the PUBG branding. The game, as per the poster, is titled PUBG Black Budget for now. But this could just be an internal name for the project, so take this with a massive grain of salt.
It can be speculated that Black Budget might have similar elements from the popular battle royale game. Krafton did mention in its FY22 report that the game would be set in an “everchanging PvPvE open-world” and might release on PC, console, and mobile.
Little else is known about the game so far. But since Project Black Budget is just a year away from its tentative launch, we expect more official details and leaks to start rolling in soon.
