The long-rumored PlayStation 5 Slim, a more compact version of the PS5, has been finally announced for this holiday season. Though the rumors called the new console ‘PS5 Slim’, it is simply referred to as the “new PS5 model” by Sony.
The new and smaller model of the PlayStation 5 will be available in two versions, one with a disc drive and the other is a ‘digital’ edition. An Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive can be externally connected to the digital edition. The new model largely features the same design, however, the volume has been reduced by 30% and weight by 18% and 24% depending upon the model.
