Sony has announced the date for the first State of Play showcase of 2024. The showcase is set to feature more than 15 PlayStation titles. Fans can stream this event live via YouTube, Twitch, and even TikTok.
As per Sony’s official blog, State of Play 2024 will be held on January 31, 2024. The timings for this online showcase are 2 PM PT/ 5 PM ET/ 11 PM CET. This 40-minutes-long event will feature various upcoming PlayStation titles, including Rise of the Ronin and Stellar Blade.
Along with revealing never-seen-before gameplay footage of various PS titles, the broadcast will also feature guest appearances from some of the developers. The showcase will also offer an in-depth look at some of the other titles coming in 2024 and beyond for PS5 as well as PS VR2.
Coincidently, this upcoming State of Play showcase falls on the same date as the original release of Final Fantasy VII. The title was released on January 31, 1997, for PlayStation or PS1. As the showcase is set on the game’s anniversary, there are high chances that fans might get a final release trailer for Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth. As FF VII: Rebirth is slated for release on February 29, 2024, some fans are anticipating that a demo for PS5 will be released after the showcase.
There are many rumors about what the other games in the upcoming showcase might be. After the title for Death Stranding 2 was leaked by credible gaming insider Billbil-kun (Death Stranding: On The Beach), many are hoping that a trailer and release window will be announced at the showcase.
Furthermore, according to the same leaker, Sony is also gearing up to announce a new PS-exclusive FPS multiplayer game called ‘Concord‘. Some other games speculated to be making an appearance in the upcoming showcase are:
- Until Dawn Remaster
- Sonic Generations Remaster
- Judas
- Silent Hill 2 Remake
