The release date of Spider-Man 2 was ultimately revealed at Summer Game Fest. The game is set to release on October 20 and will be a PS5 exclusive. The pre-orders for the game were announced to be starting from June 20.
This comes after Insomniac Games recently releasing an action-packed gameplay reveal trailer for the game during the PS Showcase.

Spider-Man 2 all editions announced
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be releasing in three distinct editions – standard, digital deluxe, and collector’s edition. Pre-ordering any one of these versions will gain you access to an early unlock Arachknight Suit for Peter Parker alongside three additional color variants, an early unlock Shadow Spider Suit for Miles with 3 additional color variants, an early unlock Web Grabber gadget, and 3 skill points for early upgrades in the game.
Pre-orders made for the digital deluxe edition will offer gamers with the complete game, 10 additional suits (five for Peter and five for Miles) additional photo frames, and two extra skill points along with rest of the pre-order benefits. The crème de la crème collector’s edition features all the amenities from the digital deluxe edition, along with a 19-inch action figure of Peter and Miles fighting Venom, a steel display case, and three additional skill points along with rest of the pre-order benefits.
The prices are $69.99, $79.99, and $229.99 for the standard, digital deluxe and collector’s edition respectively.
As revealed in the initial gameplay trailer launched during the PS Showcase, players will be able to play the game as both Peter Parker and Miles Morales. Kraven the Hunter is supposedly the main antagonist of the game. However, two more antagonists were also revealed during the trailer, namely Dr. Curt Connors or Lizard and Venom. In this third installment of the series, players will be able to explore two new suburbs of New York – Queens and Brooklyn, along with Manhattan.
