Electronic Arts has announced the arrival of highly anticipated Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Patch 8. The patch arrives today, i.e. January 11, 2024 for PC, Xbox Series S|X, and PS5 and adds couple of interesting new features.
The last Star Wars Jedi: Survivor patch released in October 2023 and players have been waiting for a patch 8 for quite some time, as the developer had announced it was working on this patch in November 2023. This brand new patch adds two distinct new features, namely a high contrast mode and a new audio ping functionality. Apart from these two new functions, EA has also announced that the patch will add three new slow motion presents.
The new audio ping functionality added in patch 8 enables players to ping the environment (both actively and passively) to offer them information about interactable objects and elements in their vicinity using echolocation. The high contrast mode allows gamers to desaturate the game’s environment, thereby enabling them to see color scheme specifically designed to make narrative and gameplay elements stand out.
The additional slow motion presets, i.e. 30%, 50%, and 70%, are added to the game’s shortcut menu and players can now switch between these three presets based on their preference, rather than having to rely on the game’s previously preset slow motion value. Players can also set their own custom value to slow motion functionality to gain an enhanced immersive experience by selecting value that suits their playstyle best.
In addition to these new functionalities, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor patch 8 is also set to incorporate various performance and bug fixes reported by the game’s vast player base. These new fixes will improve the gameplay experience and increase stability of the game across all the available platforms.
