Streets of Rage 5 is now officially called Streets of Rage Revolution, according to a slideshow presented at a management meeting at SEGA.
The aforementioned slideshow (see page 36) slideshow provides insights into SEGA SAMMY’s growth and financial strategies related to its entertainment businesses. Towards the end of the slideshow, the Streets of Rage 5 poster clearly states the new name for the next installment in SEGA’s famed side-scrolling, beat ’em all franchise.
The slideshow doesn’t offer much information about the game, except a short introduction that reads:
Streets of Rage Revolution: Beloved side-scrolling beat ’em up action series!
Take control of one of the ex-officers and make the city a place where people no longer have to walk the “Streets of Rage.
A short glimpse of Streets of Rage Revolution was seen in the trailer released by SEGA during The Game Awards to announce the revival of its popular IPs. From the trailer, it looks like the studio, staying true to its new slogan ‘Power the Next Level’, is working on making the new Streets of Rage game in 3D.
The official slideshow revealed new information regarding its future roadmap for releasing new Persona IPs, Like a Dragon IPs, and revival of some of its most popular Legacy IPs. These legacy IPs include Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, Golden Axe, Shinobi, and Streets of Rage. The document also outlined information about SEGA’s brand new IP, Metaphor, scheduled for a ‘muli-platform and worldwide simultaneous launch’ in Fall 2024.
