According to a recent tweet by Subnautica 3 developer Unknown Worlds, fans can expect more information about the game’s early access release in the coming year i.e. 2024.
In their latest tweet, the developers conveyed that they too share their fans’ enthusiasm, claiming it to be ‘infectious’. The tweet itself has garnered much attention and excitement from fans of the franchise who are desperately waiting for Subnautica 3.
Many fans have expressed their enthusiasm about the impending announcement, with some trying to decode the simple, seemingly ‘surface’ language of the tweet. According to some, with the line ‘keep watching this space’, the developer might be hinting towards the next game taking place in space, rather than taking place only underwater (albeit underwater in an alien planet after being stranded by crashed spaceship).
The original title is widely regarded as the best entry in the series, owing to its rich bounty of deep sea horrors as well as massive map with exceptional opportunities for leisurely exploration. A reimagining of the horror elements that resulted in an adrenaline-filled gameplay experience in the first Subnautica game seems to be a popular demand from the gamers.
Many fans are also hoping that Subnautica 3 will feature a co-op mode as well as online multiplayer mode that will match up to the quality set by the first Subnautica game.
Subnautica 3, tagged as adventure/ survival game by the publisher Krafton, is rumored to be released for PC and select consoles in the first half of 2025. Now, with the developer teasing that an announcement for Early Access launch will be coming in 2024, the aforementioned release window seems plausible.
